    what's wrong with this tie?

Old enough, I'm more the MC5/Stooges era as far as 'punk' goes, I was in the UK when the Pistols and all that stuff came out and frankly I thought most of it was utter rubbish, and time has proven me correct I think, The Stranglers still sound OK now but the Damned etc...laughably bad. I could...

    what's wrong with this tie?

ride boldly ride lancers old chap, an original brass one too, I'm too old to have been into the Clash..London Calling was OK though I suppose.

    what's wrong with this tie?

the duke It is big, but I thought a full windsor would do justice to the boldness of it, and be in proportion to the width, so many ties seem to scrunch up when you do a windsor with them..the shirt was a lightly striped T M Lewin so I thought it all went together in several ways, also we were...

    what's wrong with this tie?

pin up Well I thought a classic style of tie like this one would be fine with pin stripes as it could well be some old school number...no her objection is more prosaic...it apparently 'makes you look old'.

    what's wrong with this tie?

My good wife says this tie is awful and totally uncomplementary, I say it's a classic Michelson silk number that can handle a Full Windsor very well, and suits ;) this outfit perfectly...any comments?

    If Money Were No Object...?

early start I try to ensure that every sunday I have caviar and camembert crepes for breakfast and have done so for 30 years or more...hard to do while travelling it's true, but local Tasmanian Salmon Roe is nearly as good as the Russian stuff, or at about $60 a kilo, will do, so not...

The End of the Line - The W-Class tram trundles off into history...

NO! I worked as a clippie on the Melbourne trams in the 70's, and I used to love working the old ones...just more class, and it was so good to see what was probably the oldest functioning tramway rolling stock left in a Western country...save them I say, do you want the joint to look like Zurich?

    sweat banned

felt it Nope no plastic, it has to be the sweatband, as I said it's not hot here at all so there's no reason to be building up heat in the hat, and also, I was sitting in the shade of a tree all day and it still got the sweat runnin down my face...designed for the Arctic I'm sure.

sheepish You're right, might have to sell it and stick with dinkum Aussie products, (although that would mean getting rid of my Borso....mmm, maybe not)

Rank and Patches on Military Jackets - Might I Offend a Veteran?

nice one :eusa_clap I often wonder how many guys walking around in contemporary disposal gear and camo pants with funny hairdo's and earrings would actually prefer to be crawling up some freezing hill outside Kabul instead of drinking Red Bull in a nightclub. As I've heard it said, it's all...

$780 for an Indiana Jones Action Figure.....

doll house Sorry, the whole idea of manufactured collectibles seems a contradiction in terms to me, isn't the point of it all that not everybody can have what you have, and if it's 'deemed' collectible then aren't you just another consumer, (value adding aside). How much do you think Franklin...

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Watch out Well as someone who LOATHES superhero movies it took me a while to get around to the Watchmen and only then as it was a lean week at the video store, and what can I tell ya...I absolutely loved it, a dark and brutal hodgepodge of noir, sci-fi, and just plain good yarnspinning. I...
