    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

Well, there's at least some hats in the Borso lineup using FEPSA felts. It stands to reason these would be of fairly good quality Judging by Hatco's Fall 2019 lineup for Stetson, I'd too wager that they're probably shifting away from classic styles. Borso has an existing relationship with Nick...

You'll probably want the white/treated hat sponge. That's a pretty well worn hat. Or, dunk the thing in Naptha. But yes, dyes do fade, and no, it's not going to get darker again.

    Cloning a Fedora

Hmm....so, this is not asking for a reproduction of a vintage hat, but rather you'd like Maker X to build a hat that Maker Y made? If the hat in question had a lot of bells and whistles and was truly a unique creation of Maker Y, I think you should stick with the original maker and enjoy your...

Depends. Older bowlers might have a D'orsay curl. See Brad Bower's in depth history at: http://www.thehattedprofessor.com/derbydeconstruction.html Other than just calling it a "curled brim" the most common terms are pencil roll and kettle curl. The former being a smaller curl where the edge...

    Western, anyone?

Great hat! Any thoughts on the build quality? I've been tempted by a few Hornskov hats.

    Looking for hat information?

You can always put the strips in without removing the adhesive backing. If the band shrinks up, you can remove it.

    Looking for hat information?

Can't answer everything as I don't own either. But as far as general Akubra knowledge..... the Banjo is heritage grade, containing a higher percentage of hare fur (as opposed to rabbit) than the Cattleman. It is ostensibly, the "nicer" hat of the two. That having been said, the regular ol'...

That Clear Nutria die stamp does indeed correspond to the early 1900's catalog posted by Justin. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/1900s-stetson-catalog-reprint.94429/

Stetson seems to have been the most common. There is also a Cavanugh 100 or two floating around the lounge. Some more research here: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/stetson-open-road-quality-designation-project.54092/page-4 It seems 100 was introduced in the mid 50's.

    The Resistol Roundup

I know exactly where that Hat shop would have been. It's right on the edge of Japantown. Not much reference to that store online that I could find other than one source confirming they were around in 1953.
