    By the by, word on the street (aka Matt Deckard's Instagram) is that Hatco will be discontinuing the open crown hats in the coming fall 2019 line. I may have to snag a sage Strat or Royal dlx OR before they disappear.

    Back bow fedora, probably from around the 60's. Cury is believed to have been the source for the felt used in the original Herbert Johnson hat used in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

    I don't know how common they were as far as vintage hats. I personally haven't seen any examples. My perception of their popularity in the modern day is tied to the Dillinger hat from Public Enemies. That's definitely when it landed on my radar.

    Historically there were several different lightweight felts from the various manufacturers: feather weight, zephyr weight, etc. The Stetson Playboy is famously marketed as a lightweight felt as well. As far as modern production hats, your selections are more limited. I don't think Akubra...
