That hat looks great on you, Nathan! You could easily be a Homburg guy! That hat is in immaculate condition and I’m a little jealous. If only it had been the next size up…..lol.
We're getting the storm right now as I'm typing.
Prayers for your health, my friend. Take care of yourself, rest, and let God work! And yes, we are a close family.
I'll enjoy those photos when you feel better and post them up.
So, did you get that Hommie in the mail? I’m excited to see it! The seller had it listed for a few weeks. Eventually, he dropped it by 50 bucks to the price you got it.
I’ve never watched Suits but here’s what I can tell you. My oldest brother is a judge. He works all day, comes home and...
All the same, I have that exact one in my watch list but haven't pulled the trigger because its a size up. There's one for me out there and I have a couple of options here on the lounge. Thanks for your help and keep me in mind if you spot one. Much appreciated, David!
Sounds like you will be in Homburg Heaven today. Looking forward to pics.
My niece lives in Trussville, bordering the B’Ham city limits. Her fiancé is from North Carolina. They met while at Birmingham Southern. The wedding is in Tuscaloosa in November. My guess is they’ll remain in the B’Ham...
I'm interested in Lords Hats, too, as a more casual option. I know they typically don't have the bound edge brim. A Lords Hat may expand my opportunities for more wear.
Stefan posted one late last night in Homburg Nation that really catches my eye.
Oh my! Now we're talkin'! That one catches my eye too. How wide is that brim with the curl? Initially, I was looking at hommies with a slightly wider brim but that one looks great. I'm a big fan of that front to...
That is a great looking Homburg! Thank you for sharing that! I'm gathering Intel on what all's out there and available in my size. This one is atop my list! Thank you very much, Stefan! I love that salmon colored brim trim!
Hey, no problem! I appreciate the effort and gesture more than you know.
It's actually my niece who's getting married. Her twin brother is the one who married the Huntsville girl and moved up there.
Congrats again on that Homburg score yesterday! I look forward to seeing the hat in action!
I see. I know that when I watch those old timey westerns, their hats are noticeably thinner, almost like a dress weight. The brims bend somewhat with ease during a strong gust of wind or when the cowboy handles his hat by the brim. That's something that would never happen with a modern western hat.
Is the 6oz you speak of a western weight? Does 6oz pertain to the actual weight of the body or does it pertain more to the density of the felt? I just know that dress weight is thinner and lighter where western is heavier and stiffer.
Dress weight. The 25th will put me at the 2 month mark since I re-entered. I'm basically having the same hat made as my OR clone but I'm going with a mid ribbon this time. My OR clone was in natural dress beaver with a thin ribbon in commando. This one will be in Sahara with a contrasting mid...
I would love to have had a VS from Art but I showed up too late to the party. But my one and only Gannon is so awesome, I re-entered the queue almost immediately.
I should be about 2 weeks out from my next Gannon. I told Michael my preferences in dress weight beaver are Sahara and Bone. He said he was out of Bone. That simplified matters for me.
