What hat are you waiting for today?

I need one just like this in my life! My size, too!

I’m sure Art put a perfect fit on it for you. What are your thoughts on the overall quality of the hat?

    M.C. Gannon Hat Company

That's a good question. Best I can tell, he's a one man operation with a 2 to 3 month backlog so my guess is that wouldn't leave him much time for those services, unless the hat was made by him for one of his customers.

That’s a beauty! Sahara is my choice for my upcoming hat in a couple of months. You may have gotten his last dress weight Sahara body as Michael told me he was out and had it on order. Wear it in good health!

IIRC you sent that one back for an adjustment? Did you crease it yourself or did Michael? And is that a frayed ribbon as well? I believe you and HJ both have the same, or very similar crease. I’m gonna have Michael to shape mine the same; center crease/dent with front pinches. I also believe...

That’s a beauty! Same with the crown on mine. I love the feel but also had some trouble keeping my pinches reasonably symmetrical. I hit the crown with a little distilled water and worked the pinches for about 30 seconds and mission accomplished. They’re still somewhat asymmetrical but that’s...

    Hats and social media

I started out years ago wearing readily available department store hats such as Scala and Dorfman Pacific and thought I was hot to trot. Then I found this place and starting learning about quality and styles and realized that the $30/$40/$50 mall hats were way overpriced for what I was getting...

    Akubra Overload

I own a cattleman, Campdraft, angler, and BP. In my experience, the angler and BP are very similar in thickness and weight. Although, the BP has a softer hand due to the heritage quality felt. My cattleman seems to be thinner and a lighter weight felt. And the Campdraft is in it’s own category...

Do you have a pic handy that shows off that 2 3/4 brim? I’ve seen yours before and thought it looked great! Steel or granite maybe?

Yes, thank you! I told him my preference would be dress weight in the highwayman if possible. He exp!aimed that the 3" brim would be the max with dress weight and then it depends on whether or not the hat body is large enough. He also said that lately, all his dress weight beaver have been...

Well…..I’m back in queue. This time for a Highwayman. Michael said he can make it with the packer draw brim, which will give it a slight drop in the front and back. I’m gonna study on that brim shape a bit to make sure that’s what I want. Michael is limited on colors in western weight beaver at...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Very classic looking! I have a hat with a floppy brim that could use some stiffener. I’m gonna try that product with it.
