I recently got some samples from Aero, including two Jerky samples. They looked tough in that I don't think they show age easily. They actually remind me of goat skin. I beat both samples up pretty bad and they show nothing. I can't figure how some of the members on this thread got their...
Chromexcel does stiffen up a bit in cold weather. If that is a concern maybe try a different leather. I just got some midweight samples and the oil pull is a beautiful leather that would make a great Barnstormer.
I think for Philadlephia winters the Barnstormer with alpaca and a layer or two should be all you need. Of course discussions about what is warm enough are all relative.
People in shape can also look really overbearing in slim clothes. They think they look good, but I bet most people who see them in person think they are just obnoxious. You are right though that the sausaging effect must be avoided in those cases.
As for models wearing slim clothes, I think...
Zombie:
How is the thickness of the leather? Can you compare it directly to any other manufacturers leather? Is it thinner than Aero's medium weight leathers?
Too loose or too tight are at least partly perceptions based on current fashion. What you see in magazines, movies, websites and in watching thousands of people walk by will influence what you think is proper. Those loose fashions looked good enough a few decades ago to get people dressing in...
CAn someone give me a more concrete assesment of the Wested leather? I hear it isn't Aero FQHH or it isn't Shinki, but what is it? Is the difference thickness, weight, imperfections in the surface or something else? Does Wested have anything 1.3 to 1.5 mm thick? Is it finished in a way that...
If your gut measures larger than your chest, then definitely get the Highwayman. It is a fabulous design. I have the opposite proportions so i went for the 30s Halfbelt. I do get a bit jealous of guys who can look good in the Highwayman.
I have not been to the store but Alan has sent me some samples. I would have certainly gone with JL if I liked any of the samples. I also asked him about getting certain leathers and he said that at that time he couldn't get what i wanted. Really, there was nothing there that I would even...
Johnson Leathers can give you a great fit but can they give you a great leather? That is the downside I have found to dealing with them is that they don't have the best choice of leather.
I love Schott but will probably never buy another one. A quote from the review of this jacket..."it's remarkably trim and the size small is perfectly fitted to my 5'10" 160-lb frame.". A size small? Perfectly fitted to his frame? Used to be he would fit a medium. Schott just doesn't make...
I wouldn't buy a jacket without an interior pocket. I use it everyday. Not for bulky items but for letters or other pieces of paper that i don't want to fold in my jeans pockets.
Leather jackets have so much variation, even within the same panel, including creases, grain and fading, that I...
I think you could safely go with the Aero Midnight Blue. It is really a blue based black and gives a classic look while being just a bit different.
I am wondering...being colorblind...if the blue cast is enough to match it with brown shoes? That would make it the most versatile jacket.
I'd check into the Premier Half Belt. The shoulders might come in and the waist might get a bit roomier. I think the Premier is bit straighter. Try to get some measurements.
This is one of the few Vicenza leather jackets I have seen that I really like. I was never a fan despite everyone telling me how beautiful it was. Is it smoother than most or is it just the lighting? It looks great.
The HB isn't bad either. Both fit in fine in different ways.
I am about 20 minutes away and have been there several times. It is a great place. I wish they had more things in a size 36! The staff is very friendly as you said and very willing to go the extra mile for you.
One of the sales people or owner perhaps has a Schott HH jacket that is very well...
I am bringing this thread back from the grave because I am really in need of a new pair of prescription sunglasses. I have had a pair of Maui Jim's for the past ten years and they are still like new. Problem is my eyes improved and I can't see so well through them now.
The other problem is...
