Excuse me Miss, do you Blog?

Felicia, you got a great deal on that Lilli Ann coat and it looks fabulous on you! Well, I had to park Judy for several weeks during my job hunt but I had success and start a new position next week. Hopefully, it will leave me some time to continue to post Judy's travels abroad! I've finally...

Vintage Things That Have Disappeared In Your Lifetime?

2jakes, I've been trying to figure out why I see nothing when you post... It finally hit me! I use the "Default Style" for viewing the website, rather than the "Blackend" style. You type in the same pale color as the background of the default style so your posts appear blank! I've had to...

Who wants my 8-track tape collection? just pay shippping!

We had a powder blue Gremlin... AND a lemon yellow Pacer. We had many AMC cars over the years since my father was an engineer for the company and was eventually at a level where he got a free lease car every year. My favorite AMC-related vehicle we had was the late 1970s Levi-edition Jeep. It...

Oooh, I'm very excited about my latest find: a set of six Berkey & Gay dining chairs. There are five side chairs and one chair with arms. All are marked 1906 (model number?, production year?) except the arm chair, which is marked 1906 and then has a sideways 2. I think possibly this was...

Shocking Stories About Your Golden Era Relatives

At a family gathering my mother revealed my grandfather was a bit of a womanizer. She related a memory of when she was about six years old. Her father was a sheet-metal worker at the time and somehow her mother got wind of him making saucepans with the scraps for another local woman. One thought...

I was thinking 50s, too, but it's so hard to date an item such as this. Thanks for the opinions!

Vintage Things That Have Disappeared In Your Lifetime?

Bookplates Bookplates. I just came across a sealed box of Antioch bookplates at a local thrift and snapped them up. Yes, I know bookplates can actually still be purchased but does anyone still use them rather than just collect them? I still prefer to read an actual book rather than using an...

Esteban68, do show us the full regalia on your next tweed run with your new leggings! I have a favorite tweed jacket myself. :) Here is my latest find: a lovely leather writing folder. What would be the proper name for such a thing? Any suggestions for age? There is no maker's mark anywhere...

What coffee or tea did you drink today?

My absolute new favorite. A black tea with apricot, hazelnut, cinnamon, and cornflowers. Somehow manages to remind me of a delicious Christmas Pudding. https://www.harney.com/celebrations-1.html

What Did You Drink Last Night?

This ended up being quite delicious. It's a somewhat sweet cider with elderberry from a great local source. Blake's Hard Cider Co.'s Flannel Mouth is also very good. I've yet to try their Catawampus or Beard Bender ciders.
