My thrift store find today isn't vintage but it's going to come in handy for my daughter's graduation party in two weeks: a 30-cup coffee percolator. I'd been hoping to find one!
I collected waaaay too many Nordic Ware shaped cake pans and had to purge (pun intended), but I never had that one. It's called the Sweet Rides Classic Car pan.

This is actually more like a 1970s or 80s tie imitating the 40s but I couldn't resist it. (If someone can offer when it may have actually been made, I'd appreciate it.)

Spider Lily from the India Hicks Island Living Collection by Crabtree & Evelyn. (Though they recently changed the name to Caribbean Island Wild Flowers when they disassociated with India Hicks. Supposedly, the scent is the same but I haven't tried the newly-named one yet.)
I started wearing...
Ditto.
And an old acquaintance who spent hours on the beach, laying out in the sun drenched only in SPF 2 oil, who admittedly had a beautiful tan all those years ago, now looks like leather-face.
It's not surprising that we all have our own ideas of what "It" is. To me it's definitely classical elegance. I, myself, have often been considered conventional, old-fashioned, etc, in my looks/mannerisms/way of speaking and treating people. My nickname at university was "The Ivory Soap Girl"...
Absolutely. Grace Kelly had IT. She got it right looks-wise but IT is something more. IT includes attitude, carriage, mannerisms, style. And Grace Kelly had Style with a capital S and it showed whether she was in casual clothing (as in the photo above) or in a ball gown... or eating fried...
