Well, what could be better than chocolate-covered cars? ;) Add: My thrift store find today isn't vintage but it's going to come in handy for my daughter's graduation party in two weeks: a 30-cup coffee percolator. I'd been hoping to find one!

I collected waaaay too many Nordic Ware shaped cake pans and had to purge (pun intended), but I never had that one. It's called the Sweet Rides Classic Car pan. https://www.nordicware.com/store/product_detail/sweet-rides-classic-car-pan#.U9WJ7bGwWYw

:o Thanks. (Doesn't seem that anyone is interested in my latest offering, though.)

This is actually more like a 1970s or 80s tie imitating the 40s but I couldn't resist it. (If someone can offer when it may have actually been made, I'd appreciate it.)

Old smells, that immeditately transport you back in time?

We did fetal pigs in 8th grade, then cats in 10th grade Anatomy (an elective). Formaldehyde... :painkiller:

One for the ladies this time. All seven items for $6 paid via PayPal for postage anywhere within the USA, Priority Mail Flat Rate Box, which includes a few extra cents to cover the PayPal fees. I'm afraid I don't offer First Class shipping because that necessitates a trip to the post office...

    On yer bike!

I'd been wondering what my set was for... maybe cycling! It looks quite like the ladies set in the ad but my set includes a cape and was more likely 1950s/60s. My set is definitely shaped for a woman and the trousers are short for just over the knee. (I've posted about it here before.)

If I had to pick one girl from the golden era

Thanks for the compliment. :o (I especially appreciate it since in re-reading what I wrote, I sound a bit pompous!) And I did go through a stage in my teens/twenties when I got fed up with being viewed as the classic girl-next-door type and wanted to be the cool/sexy girl. But I just couldn't...

Men (or women) What is your favorite perfume for women?

Spider Lily from the India Hicks Island Living Collection by Crabtree & Evelyn. (Though they recently changed the name to Caribbean Island Wild Flowers when they disassociated with India Hicks. Supposedly, the scent is the same but I haven't tried the newly-named one yet.) I started wearing...

    Best beauty decision you've made?

Ditto. And an old acquaintance who spent hours on the beach, laying out in the sun drenched only in SPF 2 oil, who admittedly had a beautiful tan all those years ago, now looks like leather-face.

If I had to pick one girl from the golden era

It's not surprising that we all have our own ideas of what "It" is. To me it's definitely classical elegance. I, myself, have often been considered conventional, old-fashioned, etc, in my looks/mannerisms/way of speaking and treating people. My nickname at university was "The Ivory Soap Girl"...

If I had to pick one girl from the golden era

Absolutely. Grace Kelly had IT. She got it right looks-wise but IT is something more. IT includes attitude, carriage, mannerisms, style. And Grace Kelly had Style with a capital S and it showed whether she was in casual clothing (as in the photo above) or in a ball gown... or eating fried...
