English isn't my native tounge .... :)
It corrects my texts, but alas not postings on here .. back to the Indy, I should have an Alexanders one in Old Grease Steer in a few days just in time for the next trip to SE Asia ( It was ordered a few months ago but I've been travelling). I had a...
Thanks Major, good to be back .. re. the spelling, it's these pesky iphone things ... obviously my right hand dexterity on an iphone is not as accurate as my left on a guitar ( but then again some may say it is :) )
I see you're still pushing patch pockets and getting threads closed ...
You can NEVER have too many leather jackets ( just like there's no such thing as a keeper !) .... but you do have to draw the line somewhere so I'd say two IDENTICAL A-2's would be too much :)
They're so high waist they're almost a crew neck :)
As for the supid impracticle little pockets .. that you struggle to get yer hands into ..... best left in the 20's and 30's along with buttons ( unless they're on a car coat) :)
I like the Indy ( the kiss of death .... if I like it it is...
Yet another fashon habit I can't understand ....
NOT washing jeans for months at an end under some mistaken belief that they self clean and won't smell of sweat, dirt and wee !!!!
I've only ever stumped up cash for a few pairs of bluebells (ebay) and 3 pairs of vintage levis (Aero - 1940...
I too have a few Schott leather jackets ...
1. A 1980's black suede blazer ... which is a GREAT jacket and of one piece front and back construction ( no waist seam)
2. 1990's leather distressed baseball jacket ... again great jaket ( not as nice as my vintage Hockey jacket) but well made and...
I like them A LOT ... possibly the most useful feature on a leather jacket
and find them invaluable for stashing phone etc. in a safe and useable fashion ( and ideal for on the bike).
I generally have two ... one each side ... but I can live with one on LHS ( I'm right handed) but then...
JDG ... I had one of these about 4 years ago and the large was HUGE ( easilly an XL and about 54" actual chest measurement) .. I have a 43" chest and the medium was big on me ..... the large positively drowned me ( and I like things a little loose ... as many on here would have you believe.
HTH
So unusual to see older motorcycle jackets with additional padding in the elbows and shoulders ....... REALLY, REALLY unusual .... and two long zips in 1930 would also have been really unusual :)
Zip cuffs and zip pockets also ..... these would indicate that ... if the dating is correct ...
4 Aero's just posted on on ebay ...... time for a change ( and I don't mean I'm warming to jackets that are too small :) )

Thats the wonderfil thing about feedback .... it can be taken or disregarded at the recipients discretion :D
There are some more sensitive than others .... but if one always remembers that opinions ( as the saying goes) ... are like arseholes ... everyone has one !
I can only report what I was told and what I was shown guys .....
So shoot the messenger by all means ... but he has no "skin in this game". The Horse "sides" had no shell portion Holly ( the shoe, bag and belt market as you rightly say is far too lucrative ... particularly shoes )and they were...
I tried the 1940's fit ...
It just FEELS too small .... and I accept the opinion some of you guys have, but having tried that 1920's / 30's / 40's fit .. for me ... it just feels too small. A bit like high waist trousers or jeans they just feel wrong and uncomfortable. A 42S in a suit is my...
Thanks for the fashion lesson MM ... I'll pass .... I like me better :)
But hey .... keep em coming .... if you think this is big you should have seen me in an A-2 :D :D :D
Probably just the smell of cigarettes Boyo .... I REALLY like the fit so I don't think it needs shrinking. In fact I'd be hoping it didn't shrink any as it would then be too small IMHO ( not in the opinion of the small jacket fans .. but certainly in mine).
The length is good also in relation...
