    What are you wearing today??

What I wore to a Christmas party at my old job the other night. 1926 dated suit, NRA label overcoat, '20s glasses, '50s homburg, '40s tie, paul fredrick club collar shirt, 1910's cufflinks, AE cap toes and a collar bar of unknown vintage. The present I got from the "White elephant" secret...

How Many Fedoras did you see today?

Just saw George Whipple on TV wearing a black Homburg. Not a fedora, but still noteworthy!

    The Cap Faction

    Yeah that would've been too much of a squeeze. I can wear a roomy/stretched 7 but I'm most comfortable wearing a 7 1/8th.

How Many Fedoras did you see today?

Not counting my own and the ones worn by the employee's of JJ Hat Shop I counted 11 today in Manhattan. Some within seconds of each other.

    The Cap Faction

Wow! I've been combing Etsy for caps like that for hours at a time and must've passed over that! Congrats!

BOARDWALK EMPIRE (HBO) - Everything you wanted to bootleg about the Show!

Anyone else curious as to what happened with Van Alden? He didn't appear at all in the last 2 episodes. I came to this realization when the finale was over that they never explained what he'd been up to, or what his bootlegging plans were.

A lapel to fold on . A Boardwalk Empire thread

So that's why those suits never looked 100% right to me. I like the suits a lot, but that crease definitely ruins it.

    Dating for Fedora Loungers?

I'll dust the cobwebs off this thread! Living in NYC, one of the biggest cities, one would think finding people to date would be easy regardless of their being into vintage or not, but I've learned it's not easy at all. I personally think the issue is my age. I'm 22 and most women I meet who...

What era of dress or style doyou prefer?

Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm running errands in my neighborhood, I dress casual '50s. Going to work, I switch off between 1920's-early 1950's depending on my mood.

Help me place a date to this photo

I agree with everyone else. Roughly 1960.

Do you think there could be a second Great Depression?

This might sound far-fetched as I am no export on politics and foreign affairs, but I always thought that solution to this world wide economic problem would be for the entire world to agree to wipe the debt slate clean and start over.

Your favorite toys as a kid?

Hard to choose. I was a Thomas the Tank Engine fanatic as a kid, collecting all the Ertl diecast models from the show. But at the same time I was also obsessed with matchbox, playmobile and Lego. The Matchbox Car Wash was probably my favorite set of them all...

Gents: Do you feel comfortable with a woman who is taller than you?

When your truly in love with a woman, what difference does height make? I'm 5' 10'' btw.

    Crazy Lapels Suit - 1940's?

Looks like it's a zoot suit styled costume made for a 1940's boogie woogie soundie film. Unless an old '70s era tailor still remembered how to cut a suit in the exact '40s specs.

    Show Us Your Purchases....GUYS !

I bought the record because of the song. I actually like Window Cleaner number 2 more than Formby's first version.

    Ralph Lauren '30s style jacket

Though not true vintage, it looks like a pretty decent replica for those who want the '30s look on a budget. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-RALPH-LAUREN-Cream-Plaid-Norfolk-Sport-Coat-36-S-/360508017201?pt=US_CSA_MC_Blazers_Sport_Coats&hash=item53eff3ca31

    1920's/1930's suit jacket

Needs to be pressed, and a little overpriced, but still worth a look at it. It almost looks like it came from Curly Howard's wardrobe. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230575830009&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en
