Eastman all the way. The Rainbow looks like a Highwayman and a half-belt got together and the DNA didn't mix well. I agree with others that the side belts should basically line of with the half-belt. If the half-belt was lower and the straps were higher to match up, it would flow better.

Years ago I was siting in an airport bar, wearing a t shirt from an "all British bike rally", that had the logos of a dozen or so Brit bike brands on the back. The guy I started chatting with summed it up nicely. He didn't ask what I rode, he asked "how many?" It's an addiction!

I buy a lot of vintage motorcycle parts on the bay, but I refuse to use a seller that subscribes to this BS. It's bad enough that they charge sales tax on items bought from within Canada, now they want to be the import broker as well. Not for me!

As far as I know they were never made in leather by Belstaff or Barbour until the recent "fashion versions" produced by the current owners. The design dates back to the late 1920's.

The truly great ones, like John Chapmann, don't constantly bombard us with their propaganda, they let their products and their customers do the talking.
The BK posts sound like a serious inferiority complex to me.

I've done the water treatment for fitting. I put a pair of harness boots that were too tight in the wash tub and soaked them for a couple hours. I jammed a set of vintage shoe stretchers in them and left them for the winter. When riding season came around in the spring, they were good to go. I...
Nice, can't beat that price for a decent sheep. That is a great surplus shop. I picked up an excellent issue G1 there a couple years ago for $70, replaced the knits and go to go!

I'd have to disagree with Seb on being able to feel the difference. I've had several collar stand A2's and always find that when sporting a beard I would always snag it in the neck hook. This is one of the reasons I went with a Dubow on my last GW order, the smaller, slanted collar sits well...
Hey Peter,
No argument you can spend and spend on a Commando if you want all the latest, top of the line goodies, but 80% of your list is on the "want side", not the "need side" to make it a good useable daily rider, capable of keeping up in modern traffic.
My '72 Combat does contain a good...
Hey Peter,
Sorry to hear you let the Commando go. The KZ is lovely and I wouldn't mind owning one, but I'd never trade a Commando for one (but I'm obviously biased). I can't figure where you'd need to spend $3k to upgrade a Commando for modern traffic, maybe $1k. Not to say you couldn't...
The opening line on the website said "Fashion Takes Flight", that was the first sign, might as well have said "prices have gone up!". The modern spec, 21st century A2 is listed at $420.00, I think I paid a about $240.00 for one just a few years ago, and that was at the Air force museum gift shop...
Current tally is 3 Goodwear's, two russet, one seal, a russet Aero, and a seal current model cockpit, so no, more than one is not an issue as far as I'm concerned. All are A2's but none of them are the same, so I'm fine with the concept.
Your location only says Canada, which corner?

I had a couple G&B Expos, lamb and goat. Well made jackets, but they replicated the "falling off the shoulders" design of the original jacket too well. I didn't find them very comfortable and sold them both.

I knew he was a fellow Canadian as soon as I saw him use "toque", never heard anyone call them a "Bobble cap" before. If it has eye cutouts, it's called a balaclava or just a plain old ski mask.
Looks like so many we had as kids, but I couldn't tell you where to get one now. I'll have a look at...
