I think it is fantastic when manufacturers like yourself communicate directly with passionate customers like those on this forum. The rich wealth of expertise that you can share is so valuable to those who are trying to develop their own knowledge...
A very Merry Christmas to one & all!
Like the above sentiments, I hope the new year brings success, happiness, cold weather and a wardrobe full of wonderful jackets!!!
Aero do have a mid-weight horsehide, which I believe gets the label you describe.
Steer hide would be the heaviest, followed by their FQHH, then the mid-weight hides.
Haven't experienced their 'jerky', so am unable to comment.
Would love to see your jackets as a proper welcome to a new member.
Ha! I was thinking the same thing.
Keep this one whilst you plan the upcoming Sheene.
The key though is how YOU feel this fits. I think it looks great.
if anything, one inch shorter in the body, but that's really splitting hairs.
Well, they have arrived and I have had Topy half soles fitted to both pairs. One black and one Brown pair.
Really lovely Horween hides & I do love the more rugged look, compared to the RMW Craftsman boots which they replace.
Have to say though, that for this pricepoint, the RMW's are a much...
I guess the mantra here is; do it at your own peril.
You may, or may not have any adverse reactions, whether they be related to the colour, size, wavy zips or mismatched grain.
I stand by my earlier comment, just wear it!
I've put a goat hide jacket in a washing machine once. It was a relatively new Aero too. Cold water, short cycle, minimal detergent for gentle fabrics.
The colour washed out in many parts much more than I would like. It also actually hardened the leather somewhat. I figure it must have washed...
I would hope so, I purchased it in May of this year & it was made only just before that.
It's a lovely hide to wear, very comfortable from the get go. Also has the added benefit of behaving a bit better in the wet, particularly compared to some of the veg tanned hides (like Vinnie).
Nice jacket, must say though that I'm not digging the double buckle look in your picture.
With your t-shirt tucked in, the jacket riding above the jeans belt line, done up and buckled, the jacket buckle looks identical to your belt buckle immediately underneath it.
I'd say play around with a few...
I was watching the news last night and saw a report about some horrendous weather in the UK. I hope it hasn't effected anyone here directly, but it did get me thinking that there must be some great jackets being worn at the moment.
Would anyone like to share some pic's?
Let's be honest here, either Shinki or Vincenza would be a superb hide. Only people here would even know the differences.
If the question was "money is no object & I want the best - which one?", then it makes sense.
Otherwise, Shinki may be the preferred, but it's not as if anyone is going to...
Hi, for what it's worth, they both look at least a size (if not two) too large.
As for the general fit, keep in mind the type of jacket that you are trying on. It is originally designed as a bike jacket, where you would be reaching forward to the handlebars. Not so much as a casual jacket.
The...
Here's a couple of pics.
Have a look at where the outer seam sits on my shoulder. It may be just slightly broader, but only by a fraction. It's an old pic that was taken when the FQHH (brown) jacket was only a few days old. It has relaxed somewhat since & sits a little lower on the shoulder.
