After an unexpected encounter with a large bag of soaking wet laundry, my natural leather is well and truly 'bapltised' - particularly down the right arm. It's an interesting effect so i'm going to try wiping it all over with a fine cloth tonight.
No, I'm relying on just getting out and about in it - I've managed to rid myself of any serious paranoia about wearing it. I rotate it with my Good Wear and Board Racer, the latter will probably drop away at the end of June and not reappear until September, so there's a good chance it'll start...
I agree with Boyo. There's no way that I would buy a natural leather jacket as my first, second or third purchase... but when you get to the point where you're looking for something a little unique, natural leather is not a bad choice. Mine is looking better with every wear, it just brings out...
I don't think there's anything wrong with 'uncuffed' jeans. I start of with my jeans cuffed, but after a while they start to fray at the edge at which point I have them hemmed because it's the only the way to extend their life. Also, there is a slight tapering that you get with hemming that I...
I can see my beautiful cream Wayfarer out of the corner of my eye from here, and I can't help but think 'is that a smudge on the sleeve...?' and panicking slightly.
That's amazing! I can only hope I can get my one to this sort of state. Small tip: I've discovered that small marks can often be lifted with a clean rubber eraser without a trace.
Wow, that looks fantastic. It's been belting down on and off all day here, so I'm sticking with my Good Wear - that still needs a bit of wearing in as well, tbh.
I seem to recall Mister Freedom recommending people buying the Campus jacket should soak it in water and then wear it until it dries on to their frame. That's a quick and easy way to get past 'water stains'!
Looks as though you're getting some strong sun! I've only really had one opportunity to wear it so far - we had a scorcher of a day on Sunday, at least by our standards up here, so I headed out for the day in it. Don't think it's quite taken on a similar tan, though I'll need to check under the...
Horween's account of the tanning process it uses on their website makes me think that, given the chroming process happens early on in the tanning- post-dehairing, but before the retanning and then the hot-stuffing of fats and oils - I'd hazard that, even if the excess chrome solution isn't...
From my experience, Horween's CXL and FQHH will repel all but the heaviest rain for a decent period of time - don't think it'll keep you dry for hours in a deluge but it'll keep you good even in a heavy shower to get you where you need to go.
The Hercules is a really nice design. I tried one on...
Your choice of hide depends on what you want from your jacket. The seal goat will remain very much as it is the day you took it out of the box. The tan battered HH will change comparatively quickly and develop a worn look.
Cord is a very warm lining compared to cotton. You need to work out if...
