Not a great fit. I'm not surprised they're selling. I was seriously tempted by one but went with an otr Hooch Hauler instead. I think if you get it in a sufficiently soft cloth, so you get the right drape, it'll look great.
Yeah, it means that they're effectively part of the shirt, so they age as a single whole. Also, avoids the design being accidentally pulled if it's caught by an iron.
I picked up a couple of t-shirts from this company. Interesting concept: using the wabash discharge printing method to create the images rather than simply sticking a transfer image on to the front, thus avoiding any issues about shrinkage and ironing (it's literally part of the t-shirt). Nice...
Go to Aero for a tailored B-6. They can alter the length and sleeves to your taste along with a choice of sheepskin colours and leather tape colours. I have a D-1 with Vincenza russet strips but with the zips removed.
Don't think I wasn't tempted. It's more a case of my bank manager having the last word on this one. Shouldn't be an issue on the mouton, either. They've got a variety of colours on the cloth B-10s at the mo'.
@Big J, Ken was amazed that a leather B-10 had never been done, given that the olive hide was out there. I guess it just had to be the right weight and shade. It is uncanny, btw, as it took a second to register what I was being shown as the leather has a matt sheen similar to sateen.
Re the...
I had an Old Town jacket but the fit was weird - tight across the shoulders and never loosened up - and the customer service is *really* poor. Sold it after one season, no urge to repeat the experience.
Was over visiting the Aero factory this afternoon, a chance to catch up with Ken and have a nose around some of their new items that are in the pipeline!
Some very interesting things afoot. Aero have been working on producing a 1930s-style three piece tweed suit for a while and are in the throes...
Yes, I meant the colour. I tend to think cordovan, from the French 'heart of wine', is much better term. I have an Aero Hooch Hauler that is the same hue. Burgundy is a bit flat sounding if you ask me.
Yeah, I've never got it either. I tried a pair of their jeans on, 23oz I think, and they were such a pain in the ass to button up that I went with a pair of 12oz Lee Archives instead, which are now my favourite jeans.
I had some bleed from a pair 21oz-ers on the inside of my D-1. I used a bit Vanish stain remover carefully dabbed it off. No harm done, but those jeans were relegated to being worn with short jackets only.
I was talking to somebody at work about the cost of leather jackets and as I walking through the sort of prices you can (and most of us have) paid for stuff it occurred to how decadent it all sounded. Thank god I didn't get on to the prices people pay for denim around here!
I still remember...
