I personally like a short jacket - that's one that at minimum covers my belt-buckle - but I've got a small frame and legs a bit longer than than my waist size, so I can get away with it. The problem with a short jacket on someone carrying a bit of timber is that it tends to emphasis the girth...
By my reckoning:
A - Vicenza HH
B - Goat
Samples are handy to see how the leather scuffs and abrades, but also how a particular batch looks at the moment.
C - CXL HH
When it comes to new zips, Areo use Talons, not YKK. They also have a selection of deadstock ones, but I don't know what sort.
Cotton in the arms is basically down to ease of access - tartan can be a bit 'grabby' on your clothes. I have a wine red rayon lining all the way through my BR it's...
It depends where you sit in your sizing bracket. I can slip comfortably in a 29" waist but not 28", so I buy 30" jeans. When it came to LVC 1947s, I went one size up, washed and they fit, but are still pretty loose around the waist and can slip under my belt if it's buckled too tightly. I doubt...
I think QT went for a stylised version of the on-screen Bruce Lee - he comes across as a pompous ass. He only turns up a couple of times, but they're memorable appearances. There's lots of great little cameos: Steve McQueen, Roman Polanski, Sam Wanamaker, plus other sundry ones which would give...
It's a really good film, btw. It's one of QT's 'ride along' films, but evokes and depicts late-60s Hollywood beautifully. Yes, it has homages left-right-and-centre, but it means you get moments such as De Caprio turning up in a pitch-perfect Great Escape remake, him as Hilts wearing the Hilts...
I'm afraid it's packed away for the summer at the moment. It's developed some nice creasing on the arms and back, though not excessively so and despite the cream-colour fleece, remains clean.
This is why I've kind of given up with Japanese stuff. No matter how much I like the item, the fit always lets it down a little. That said, I'm sitting here in a RM 'Hookless Zips' t-shirt that I love, so it's a question of what you're willing to live with.
Yes, it's a bit of schlep. I do it by car from Glasgow and I'd be hard-pressed to get it below two hours, and that's with local knowledge. I'd recommend a trip to Aero even if you can't make the sale - the Borders is a lovely part of the country.
