Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

About a year ago, I communicated with the lady who is selling the jacket. I did notice the zipper and the way it was installed. My plan was to remove the zipper, install a period correct talon. However, the lady would not allow me to see the jacket in the flesh (She nearby). I did like the...

Star Glove Co by Lost Worlds is best ever

Nice jacket. I own a LW Trojan with all the bell and whistles that is one of my very favorites. Having seen your previous fantastic jackets, your review of star-glove is quite a statement. Stu does put an excellent spin on his jackets and easily become a very coveted tool to use when riding or...

    Project: 5-Star Buco J-82

I see what you're getting. I can pass the orientation of the orientation of the zipper in contrast to the rig pocket and main zippers. The second dated 8/24 d pocket is an improvement over the first version. Personally, what I do when I want to duplicate an original, I trace the part. Then I...

    Project: 5-Star Buco J-82

I was thinking of having one made with all my NOS hardware minus the buckle. Still looking for the correct buckle. Does anyone have a source of the original maker? Snaps, spots and zippers are all been source from original makers. If you have a buckle with the belt end metal cap, let me know.

    Project: 5-Star Buco J-82

Nice patterns. I think the D pocket looks a little off. Also, I think the fore arms should taper a little more. Just my view.

RMC & Harley Davidson 1940s Cycle Champ D-pocket - need fit pics

It is sad that RMC got it wrong with the zippers. The 40s to early mid 50s HD actually used nickle plated Conmars. The Pulls and sliders of those originals were very small if you would compare to later production military conmars which are a beast of a zipper. Those Mil specs conmars are much...

RMC & Harley Davidson 1940s Cycle Champ D-pocket - need fit pics

Just my personal views about modern vs NOS and used vintage zippers. The old zippers are strong enough for most jacket. They were made with different materials. Sadly, some new production zippers are not suited for use with some leather jackets. I own several LW midweight horsehide jackets...

RMC & Harley Davidson 1940s Cycle Champ D-pocket - need fit pics

Friend, There has much debate about HD original makers and periods of production. Two jackets I own can be seen at the forum. I got directly from jmax and another from a member who I think also got it from him as well. I also have other images of my mid 50s cycle king and cycle champ next to...

RMC & Harley Davidson 1940s Cycle Champ D-pocket - need fit pics

There is a fine member who has posted here his Momoa collaboration cycle champ. I believe he is a size 38? The HD museum and the RMC do look very similar. I am a big fan of all the RMC HD repros. I believe they are top of the line. Having said that, I have never seen any original vintage HD...

Both jackets are top shelf. Regius is the man. I particularly like the first one. The fit is just phenomenal.

    Jacket ID

Beautiful put together jacket. Robin was a small company who had a military contracts in the 70-80's. The shirt resembles Cal. Leathers models to me. My first flight overall was made with those zippers. Some of the #5 had separating zippers that resembled crown type sliders and talon teeth.

    Wesco Engineer - Questions

The guy that made my boots is Miguel Moralez. He is one of many who make boots. Here is a link of a small factory in Guanajuato. They are old school. However, some make others. If you show them what you want, they also send you to individuals who only works on the styles you are...

The jacket looks good on you. I was wondering about the hide used? The jacket flows real nice on you. Did you ever consider a brown hide for your cool project?
