Thank you for the kind words and thoughts guys.
Ken is in great hands here with NHS Scotland having been superb and moved very swiftly. The cancer is localised and not spread so the surgeons are confident it can be removed without need for further treatment / chemo etc...
He underwent a lengthy...
Terribly sad news to hear. Whilst i personally didn't have many direct dealings with Van he was a long time friend of Aero and my Father. He has been a very active contributor on various forums and always given good advise, i know that he was a big part of one of the first "vintage leather"...
The Tartan is "Campbell of Cawdor Weathered" which happens to be my family tartan (the Calder name is part of Campbell of Cawdor clan)
Jacket looks great by the way.
You also have a unique side buckle set up. (Buckles that we are going to be using for a Japanese contract)
Again I apologise that you weren't offered a full explanation (did you ask for clarification?)
We have been quite short staffed here at the factory this last 2 weeks due to a few of our team being off with covid, myself included. Some emails may have been answered in a briefer manner than normal.
Hi There,
At Aero we try to keep our military jackets as close to original spec as possible. Our military jackets are all based on original patterns and we try to ensure they are as close to original spec as possible this goes for all the materials used from labels, hardware and materials used...
Funny you should say this. In 2019 we had a stand at the Clutch show in Yokohama , one of the exhibitors was Shinki , on the stand one of their representatives was proudly wearing his Aero Half belt in Cordovan Chromexcel. He also visited our stand on day 2 and purchsed him self a second Aero...
The Board Racer has definate curved sleeves by its design (our most curved sleeve) but I wouldn't say the Highwayman has overly curved sleeves ? If so then all our sleeves are curved. Not sure why you would want straight sleeves, your arms are rarely held straight and usually in a relaxed curve?
Our first sample batch of Chestnut Badalassi did not come through as dark as we expected / had wanted. It was nice but too similar to Tobacco in terms of darkness, we wanted something darker and less red than Tobacco. That first batch was used to make approx 10 jackets.
We have received our...
New cuffs are an easy fix and can be done invisibly as no to stitch through the leather.
Very hard however to get a perfect color match to waistband with new. Aero can do and have various shades to try get a good match. If you wanted exact match both cuffs and waistband could be done together...
Northumberland........you are literally just down the road!
We would love to welcome you to the factory and show you what we do. We are taking visitors by appointment so drop me a mail and we can get you booked in.
Apologies for lack of reply, we have had a couple of our team off recently so perhaps a little behind on mails, what mail did you use?
How close to Galashiels are you? If you can make it over then a visit to our factory is the best option. You can try various styles on, we have various options...
We do the B7 in 3 finishes , Original unfinished Arctic, Seal and Redskin, although our wait time on Sheepskins is now around 12-16 weeks

For the Royale to really look good the leather needs to have a bit of a drape to it. Battered Steer would be ideal, and would be my first choice. Goat would also have the right handle to it. Out of Vicenza and Badalassi, whilst i prefer Badalassi out of the two it isn't best suited for this...
