Aero do not charge UK VAT on jackets delivered outside of the uk. On our site we have UK prices incuding VAT and ROW ( rest of world ) prices excluding .
In this instance the OP from Brooklyn paid 20% less than a UK customer.
This A2 is certainly made from Horween Vermont Espresso , ( sorry @Canuck Panda but you are mistaken) . We experimented with using it about 8 years ago and whilst it was a lovely leather it was very heavily ,marked with natural markings , some of you may recall our "Black Maine " horse ( this...
We have plenty
We don't have any Cherry left and very little thinner Black. We do have plenty of Black Chrxl in stock and as has always been the case a request can be made when ordering for the cutters to choose lighter weight skins . This simply means that we will select the lightest from the...
The closest of our current leathers to compare the tone and colour of the brown Pinnacle is actually our battered steerhide. This comparison however is from 3 pieces about 3" x 3" that I was given by Horween as a "sample" . We only recieved enough Pinnacle Cognac to make a single jacket but we...
The Pinnacle isn't due in from Horween for another few weeks. We do however like to have orders finalised and production ready in advance, that way when leather does arrive we are ready to go rather than then having to chase up final specs etc....
Prodcution won't actually start ( can't...
Mine is just regular Chromexcel horse, no special selection but lucked out with a batch that had a relatively thinner top coat so getting some great brown undertones starting to show through despite not having a huge amount of wear.
I actually have this label in my Premier Highwaman.
Yours is looking great, glad we got there in the end. Remember the worst your Aero will look is the day you get it.
Fantastic film. The jacket in question wasn't actually a Schott but was in fact a very early Aero . One of Aero's first "film " jackets. Here is the letter / order from Warner Bros ordering the jacket ( through our London stockist at the time )
Cognac Pinnacle , would work great. The Royale only works right with a leather that has an element of drape. Chromexcel isn't an option on this style. Battered Steerhide is also another very good option for the style.
Also for clarification the "lighter weight" Chromexcel isn't a new...
Going by your wishes the Pinnacle will fit the bill. Depth of colour, soft
Shouldn't be too long a wait. We made this jacket a few weeks ago. The order has been in with Horween for sometime now, we should have in a couple of weeks and so far only a couple of orders.
Yes sourcing raw Horse hides is hard and the last 2 years Horween have struggled with finding skins of a high enough quality. Only the very best skins from their initial grading make the grade for Chromexcel, skins that don't make the grade are turned into other articles such as lux and Milan...
This is another really nice cow hide. This again was a sample batch and we are undecided wether to get some more in (still in discussions)
This has a really nice heavy feel but supple.
