Ah yes - the ortensia is the one I like best - petrolio is also v nice, but that lighter shade of the ortensia is stunning and I bet it will age beautifully too! I actually have a custom pair of William Lennon boots in the petrolio badalassi, and these work well with my LL Super Sportsman in...
I have two LLs in the racing green - a Western and a Super Phantom - without doubt the 2 most comfy and best fitting jackets in my collection. I am very tempted to go for a brown Super Monza in it, but the next LL cab off the rack before that will be a red Corsair in HH…..these 2 are hopefully...
That petrol badalssi is such a great hide - I would love to get a jacket in it but so far my search has been in vain…..if Aero or Field Leathers ever got a batch in again (both have used it occasionally in the past I gather from a few archive photos I have seen) I would be all over it, like a...
Black badalassi is really a great hide imo - I much prefer it to Vic or CXL. It really develops amazing grain but without “fake” ageing, and is extremely comfortable yet substantial. Here are a few shots of my two black badalassi Aero jackets - a custom J106 / Ridley and a Wayfarer….these are...
I had exactly the same experience with that RMC model last week when I tried one on in their London store - its a very weird fit and effectively unwearable (for me at least). I am going to see if Greg can do a better job when my next FL ticket comes around in early 2023….I love the style of...
The Dominator is such a classic - I love mine too - its in the black vegecow and I have to say if I had to grab only one jacket from my collection in a house fire, it would be that one!
That is a really beautiful jacket Marc! I bet the lack of squeaking comes down to his more waxy finish vs Aero's more shiny polished finish (at least initially)…..the mink oil/lotion on my Aeros seems to have fixed mine so far, which suggests that the outer surface could be where the friction...
I have not seen the chestnut one before - looks v nice - is that Aero and do you have any more shots of it? Is it a new/regular offering or a one-off as it is not on their website as far as I can tell? Thanks for sharing!
I have a good sample of Aeros now and other brands to compare against - I would say this is not a problem on almost all my Aeros but there is a mild issue with both the cafe racer and board racer, where you can definitely feel the collar pushing the back of the neck a little. It is nothing...
Pulled the trigger on three Aeros before the end of the sale…..a Shackleton in badalassi, a Coastal Command Irvin and an Outlaw vest…now the waiting starts!
It has not altered the colour of my jackets - I have used it on russet, tobacco and black hides - it does feel a little tacky when first applied but that easily buffs out to restore the original sheen - note this is lotion and not the thicker mink oil products - I cannot tell, apart from the...
Its a beautiful hide! I have a custom Slimfit MC / Ridley in the same roughout - its great stuff! Tempted now to go for either the Majestic or Wayfarer in it……
This is my feeling too - badalassi has more elasticity and moulds v well to the body relative to CXL and Vicenza in my experience - not quite as stretchy as goat or Lewis Leathers veg tan sheep, but heading in that direction. I would not say it loses shape though - so would not worry about...
