Yes - the soles are curved - it actually makes them v comfy once broken in and although they are incredibly sturdy it doesnt feel like that and the fit seems v natural. The curve actually helps with the “roll” of the stride, if that makes sense….
About 3 months in total I think for this one - typically my Aero custom jackets take between 1-4 months from placing the order to completion. It depends on the hide and availability of the cutters etc so worth asking them directly if they can give an estimate.
Its a custom Aero Wayfarer in black badalassi with shearling liner, wool backed rayon lined sleeves and mouton collar - no idea what it weighs, but its v robust - probably similar weight to my Eastman ANJ4 would be my guess.
Fyi I have another tweaked version in russet in production at present - will report back, but the black one is perfect for this time of year, so well worth experimenting down this route. The badalassi is thick but also v supple, so it can easily take the weight of the shearling whilst being...
That would be my guess - that it gets compacted somewhat over time - 40 odd years of use likely squeezes a lot of the apparent “sponginess” out of it - it is certainly not a flimsy hide but its incredible suppleness probably makes it feel les hefty than hides like Vicenza, which are no thicker...
Its v nice and the next one up on my radar - in discussion with Rip wrt sizing etc but I am leaning towards BRG with brass hardware and gold satin lining….the fit is nice and slim, with narrow arms but fairly wide shoulders, so I would say more trim than the Aero Type III….I will likely need to...
Yep - same with mine - I would certainly not go for any “artificial darkening” with this hide - just let it do its thing over time - or you risk just ending up with a black jacket after all….
I popped into LL today to check out their new vegtan horse - see attached - v different from their vegtan cow, and in more colours - notably stiffer but with plenty of grain and patina, plus dyed though rather than teacore…..planning on a Western in burgundy. The shots here include the blue...
You might want to ponder the older Monza - it is not openly available on their website anymore but they will still make it on request - as that is both shorter and more tapered than the SM or RJ….here is a shot of my old one from the 70s - it might be the sweet spot for your frame? Also, it...
For me, True Detective - I really loved the first season but what came after was utter, utter bilge…I managed 1.5 episodes of season two but it was time I could have spent more enjoyably with a spot of root canal surgery…I gave up at that point and never went back to finish it off.
