    I’m not sure why there aren’t more simple center zips like that Mercury. Particularly every maker seems to be compelled to add a useless chest pocket, with some dangling silver chain or even worse, a leather pull. Simple is good. Actually I’d make it even simpler and get rid of the placket.

    Totally! Anyone wanna guess what the leather is? Drum roll… Guidi! Unlined, too. Boots are not made by them (although I do have Guidi boots) and these are among my favourites. I do see how some people would hate this though.

    Whereas I do think returns should always be accepted, no questions asked (with some exceptions, like MTO/MTM, or final sales), that crease wouldn’t bother me one bit. Viberg last time I checked do work boots and the like, it’s not like they’re dress shoes from Carmina.

    cbez is really against center back seams (that’s fine, I don’t like chest pockets in center zip jackets, for example) but yeah saying they’re there only for cost cutting reasons is wrong IMO.
