    Where do you come from???

Buddy corrupt?? Nah...:) Believe it or not I have one of his old business cards with the little metal seal on it. A friend of mine from Narragansett gave it to me. Are they still jarring the mayor's pasta sauce? Barry

    Where do you come from???

I am a 33 y.o. librarian in training and I live in Washington, DC. I grew up in Virginia (Southern then Northern) and attended college here in DC. I enjoy music, movies, wine, fine and not-so-fine dining, spending time with my friends and family and books. I look forward to graduating from...

    Remove your hat?

Mine comes off indoors for the most part. I like the way I look in Fedoras and Caps but there is no way I'm going to sit in a nice restaurant or someone's home and keep 'em on. The hat comes off the minute I walk in the door....unless I'm taking a photo for the Fedora lounge. (Had to go back...

    "The Dated Traditional Style" suit

Zach, I found an old thread on "Ask Andy" that discussed another suit made by the same tailor. To their credit, the tailor did offer to correct some of the "issues" but there were some obvious mistakes on the suit. If I recall correctly some of the problems included buttons not lining up...

Never mind, maybe. I read up on this company. Ah well Barry

    "The Dated Traditional Style" suit

I did a search to see if this was posted before and I don't think it was. Apologies in advance if this is a duplicate thread. I've been looking for some new duds for the upcoming NY meet and I came across a suit on the www.mycustomclothing.com website. I am reluctant to use one of these...

    Aero Question from Newbie.....

Mark Moye's website might be a good place to start too. He's the US factory rep. for Aero. His site has a number of different shots of the Cheyenne and Veste Del Rallye. I don't think he features the Stockman on his site, but I could be wrong. I know I've seen a picture of a guy wearing a...

    Suit Grey

Nice suit, Matt. I look forward to seeing it too. I just need to find one for myself! :) Thought I had a winner tonight but I think the jacket might be a long based on the descriptions. Barry

    Yet another Eddie G!

Art's Cheyenne (just in this morning! pictures included)

Once I lose some weight I'm probably going to buy a suit from Rob (at Rocacha). I'm thinking about the Cotton Club right now. I think Salv posted a picture of it some time ago in another thread. In the meantime the hat looks nice with one of my overcoats and also with a sports jacket that I...

Your favorite toys as a kid?

We played a lot of board games. Also, I had one or two of those handheld electronic sports games with the little red LED's. I remember my neighbors slot racing cars and "Stretch Armstrong" doll. Barry

    The "Indy" Comebacks...

I wore my new Art Fawcett "Cheyenne" to dinner tonight. On the cab ride home we were stopped at a light...all the sudden I hear someone on the street yelling "Hey you! In the taxi!! Hey John Gotti!! John Gotti!!" It was two homeless men who seemed to get a kick out of the fact I was wearing...

Art's Cheyenne (just in this morning! pictures included)

Yep, it's the Highwayman. I really like the jacket. The original zipper was replaced and that was a bad experience. The jacket is breaking in pretty well. Everyone: Thank you for your nice comments.

Art's Cheyenne (just in this morning! pictures included)

I just got back from the post office and opened up the box! This is my second very recent custom hat purchase. The other was from another hatter. This is one beautiful hat. :fedora: The felt is wonderful - both the color and the feel. The photos do not do it justice. The sweatband is a...

    Features on Men

Castile by Penhaligons has a nice, clean scent (at least when it dries down). Neroli is the top note...one of my favorites. It is marketed as a unisex scent so if you are looking for something bracing and masculine this might not be it. Barry

    Religion in the 40's & 50's

I am a non-practicing Jew. I do not get upset when people say "Merry Christmas." However, when people probe further and ask how I plan on celebrating Christmas I inform them that I do not celebrate the holiday. What should I do...tell a lie? Since many here seems to be convinced that...

    New Aero Cossack Halfbelt

Do any of you have the Vesta De Rallye? I know it's not a 30s or 40s style but I like it. I'm hoping I can get it with a shearling lining. I'm also thinking about the Cheyenne but I'm not sure. I've got a long time to decide. Thanks, Barry

    tomaz_williamson opinions

I believe the hat that I own is the Sebastian. It has a two-inch brim. I don't care for the brim...hard to expain why...I guess it's just "hard" to style it. Since I am new to wearing Fedoras I am probably not the best judge of quality. If there are any questions I can answer fire away and I...

    Hat Company Histories?

silverHalo, That's a great avatar! I'm interested in the same thing. Last weekend I picked up a hat at a vintage clothing store (even though I suspect the hat isn't really old). All it says is "Melton," "Art in Hats," and "Fifth Avenue, New York." It's in good shape and fits perfectly...
