The brim with is 2.5. That seems to be just about the perfect length for me. I can wear a brim a tiny bit longer but I think 2.5 is just right.
There is no particular style but I think it looks somewhat like the hat that I've seen J. Edgar Hoover wearing in some photos. I don't know the...
Here is my latest hat. It's Silver Mist with a blue ribbon - I like the touch on the bow. This hat is very similar to the one that was displayed on Art's shelf.

I found the suit on E-bay. It was not cheap but it was also not something I wanted to pass up. To be honest I was confused as to its origin and whether or not it was actually vintage. I sent a PM to Mark and asked about the suit. He said it was most likely either British or German. I'm...
Pie and Mash was one of the things I was looking forward to enjoying this January. I also wanted to try a steak and kidney pie at the Guinea Grill. I will make it over in August provided that I am allowed to take vacation by then.

I posted about this once before but I have one fedora that bears the BB label. The tag states that it was "Made in the USA." Matt mentioned lower crowns and shorter brims - this one fits the bill for sure.
I like the edge on the hat. I'll put in in the...
Kitchenette is great. My sister lives in NYC and I had breakfast with her there some time ago. I think they have a house made turkey sausage - I might be mixing it up with someplace else though.

That reminds me... Years ago I made sandwiches with bread and strawberry jelly (from toothpaste style tubes) on a military base in Israel. I did not serve in the military there - just stayed on a base for a bit. Also, they have a good chocolate spread. I cannot remember the name of that stuff...
I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. I was actually just telling another lounge member that I was considering going to Chicago to visit some cousins, Optimo and then Paul Chang's shop. If the alterations are bad I'd be a little worried about buying a couple of suits, jackets and...
In the photo of the cabinet is the light colored hat with the blue ribbon (it's on the next to bottom shelf, to the left of the red stingy brim) made from the "Silver Mist" colored felt?

I did sign up for some classes at a local federal government school. It's well known for good but relatively inexpensive classes.
There is also the Corcoran School of Art but I'm pretty sure the classes might be somewhat more expensive.
Rick,
We'll have to meet at Pen Haven sometime soon. I think we've missed one another by a couple of hours each time.
I'll probably stop by again this weekend. Send me a PM if you'll be around.
