(carter gazes about the Ready Room as the lights slowly dim. His eyes come to rest on a stack of transmissions on his somewhat cluttered desk. He crosses the room in his adorable oriental slippers and settles into his hobnailed, rich corinthian roan leather, oh-so-comfy recliner. He reaches forward and switches on his art-deco inspired desk lamp as he gathers the transmissions in his hand.

"Hmmm...what have we here?"

His eyes widen in surprise as.....he falls suddenly asleep.)

Good news, I found an old 280mm "Atomic Annie" and some W-9 15kT shells. Bad news: moving the darn thing's gonna be a Ph.D. in Pain, with my derriere being the thesis.

(Carter shuffles into the ready room in full winter fishing regalia, muffins, pippins, moleskin jacket and trousers, wellies, a well-worn Trilby, and scarf. He deposits his pole, creel, and haversack on DB's desk)

Well, no time for fishing I say. Let's get up to speed. What is the disposition of our forces, where are my snacks, and why is it so bloody cold in here?
