*Doctor to Kilroy* Kilroy, it looks like that bullet severed a tendon. We can go in and repair it, but you won't be able to walk for a while, and no flying either.
Damn, just after taking command of this squadron I'm put out of action. Jolly bad luck, if you ask me.
*Doctor to Kilroy* Think about it. It could have been worse. At least you're alive.

 

[Diamondback]

Several minutes later...
*two large twin-engines land in perfect formation, and taxi to the WONK hangar; PFY runs out*
PFY, would you please see to the mole and our other new "guest"? I need to check on Kilroy and Sam.
PFY: On it, boss.
Arnold: I'll drife.
*jeep races over to the infirmary*

*As I apply a "Future First-Aid Kit" to Kilroy's wounds, Arnold wakes Samantha up, then inexplicably drops to one knee*

"What.... Oh I drifted off.Sorry about the sandwhiches kilroy I will eat later." Looks over at arnold on one knee."who are you? And why are you kneeling here?"

Arnold: *holding up a gold band with rubies* Ve took zis off vun of youh captohs, consulting my databanks led to a 98% confidence match to a missing ring of youhs. My programming in human social customs indicates it is propah to drop to vun knee vhen giving a female a ring...

"My ring! Thank you!" throws arms around arnolds neck. Just then the sandwhiches arive.

Welcome to this week's episode

Although the writer's strike is over, it seems as though the majority of our players are still reluctant to cross the picket line, despite the fact we do our own writing (if you care to call it that). This might just be a soliliquy tghis evening. As you, our faithful readers (both of you know who you are) must remember, our last episode found Kilroy and Retrogirl (aka Samantha, aka "Red") in the infirmary due to wounds received at the hands of the Zebra team and the Germans. I, Kilroy, had my left knee become the target of German small arms fire while Red was shot in the arm by a member of the Zebra team. While in the infirmary, DB's protege, Arnold (pronounce it Ahh-nold) presented Red with her lost ring. Down on one knee, Ahhnold was also considering proposing, but Red was whisked away into surgery (to stem the infection) before he had a chance to pop the question. So sets the scene...

And now, for our latest episode...

WONK comes live for you tonight from the studios of the Fedora Lounge. Tonight's cast is Retrogirl1941, Diamondback, KilroyCD and anyone else who feels compelled to join.

Several weeks have passed, and Kilroy and Retrogirl have largely recovered from the wounds sustained behind enemy lines. Kilroy is in a surly state:
"Lo Phat! Where is my bloody breakfast?!"
Lo Phat: "Mistuh Kil-loy suh, you been in bad mood since Ah-nold proposed to Samantha. Prease no take it out on me anymore!"
Sorry, Lo Phat, but can you understand why?
Lo Phat: "I think you making more of it than need be suh. She didn't accept, did she?"
I suppose you're right, but I still can't figure out why she's not really talking to me...

I can't figure out why kilroy is so out of sorts! Maybe its over arnold proposing, which I did'nt even answer! (walks down hall in a huff). I can't beleive we were stuck in the same ward for how many weeks and he did'nt make a move!

*wandering in*
Ouch! Kilroy, a little volume control please? It does a real number on my ears when people shout...

So, what's on the morning-mess menu?

 

[KilroyCD]

*Kilroy grumbling to self:* If I see Arnold again I'm likely to whack him over the head with my walking stick.
Darn this knee! Lo Phat! Have you seen Samantha?
Lo Phat: I think I hear Samantha walk down hall moments ago...
Sorry DB, just a little out of sorts...
Lo Phat my good man, how about whipping up an omelette for DB, please?
Lo Phat: Now, that's better, suh!

(Walking in to bed room and ordering a cup of tea) Arrrrrr.. Stupid kilroy why does he do these things to me?I wonder where DB has gone to? I have seen him in a while.....

Yeah, think I passed her on the way in, grumbling something about "same ward for weeks and he didn't even make a move."

BTW, I wouldn't try to break anything over Arnold's skull, you'll just waste a good walking-stick. Beneath the skin, it is near-solid steel, you know...

Well that explains a lot. Thanks, DB. Waitaminnit! What did you say she said? I mean I know she said something but what did she say or you think she said, because I'd really like to know what she said. Did she say it, or do you believe you thought she said something that she said but didn't mean. Understand? Because I don't!

I wish everything was'nt so topsy turvy. (walking towards kilroys billet) I wish he would act civil and be a man and not assume things!:rage:

Gimme a sec, let me log onto the mainframe and call up the data downlinks--that's the fun part, everything I see hear, smell, sense or even think is uploaded and archived for later recall.

*draws notepad-looking gadget with small TV screen, presses some buttons and passes PDA over to Kilroy... *
Okay, calling it up, just watch the screen...
*camera over Kilroy's shoulder, we see Samantha storm past in the hall like DB's not even there, and distinctly hear her say, "I can't figure out why kilroy is so out of sorts! Maybe its over arnold proposing, which I did'nt even answer! (walks down hall in a huff). I can't beleive we were stuck in the same ward for how many weeks and he did'nt make a move!" camera pans up, we see DB's face contorted in obvious and considerable pain*

Do NOT expect me to do this for you regularly--do you have any idea how nerve-wracking the feedback from the implants that let me do this is?

Come to think of it DB has been there for me most of the time(well so has kilroy but hes being a bit of an.....nevermind about that) I can't beileive that some like him wouyld'nt try to seek companionship being in place this long.....(walking to kilroys billet)

DB, I don't know where you come up with these gadgets, but all I can say is I'm speechless. Unbelieveable! Now, to find Red. I think we need to talk. *Walks to door and opens it, plows headlong into Samantha as she enters the room and falls* Geez, why don't you bloody well watch where...oh, it's you Sam! Be a dear and help me up please. I think we need to talk...

*PDA clicks off, DB returns to normal*
Interesting, she thinks Arnold proposed--my experience is that Arnold either does something in a big way, or not at all. Subtlety isn't exactly in his programming...
