None of these are recent, but here are a few snow photos.

Snow makes me not want to live in London - we don't get any and it's so purrrrdy. Best Christmas I've had was in Detroit 3 years ago when it snowed really heavily - I got so excited so started running around my boyfriends yard playing with all the snow!

Thanks, $ally. There are quite a few covered bridges in that area. And it snows a lot here. I just drove home through some snow, in fact. (But not through any covered bridges).

Where I grew up, everyone's usually pretty happy to see the first snow, but by mid January they're REALLY fed up. In New York City we average about 28 inches per year. In Chautauqua it's closer to 200, and more. I've seen 290 in a year. That's a bit much. The combination of snow, cold and darkness can REALLY wear down your spirits.

Amen brutha! We hate it by mid-January - ready to root for global warming when it snows here in APRIL!!!!!

i can remember my first year in high school that winter there was TONS of snow. driving down main street you had walls of snow a good 8 feet tall or better along the street.

funny thing was when spring came and it all melted off we found there had been several small cars that had been buried in the snow banks all winter long and most of them had been damaged quite a bit from the weight of the snow.

This is probably the first time in years that they have more snow to the south of here. :rage: Give me your snow, southerners!

That ain't true. I grew up in Fl and there was snow three times when I was a kid. Granted it never stuck. Twice in Jacksonville area and once when I was with the grandparents in St. Pete.
Ok, Ok! It does occasionally (once in a blue moon) snow in Florida. I am a Jacksonville native and have lived here for 33 years (34 years tomorrow:D) and I can only recall it snowing here maybe twice in my life. One time was just some snow falling and pretty much gone before it hit the ground. The other time was in 1989 (99% sure that was the year) and it actually snowed. The snow even laid on the ground. Nobody knew what to do! There were so many traffic accidents, businesses closing, bridges closed, etc. :eusa_doh:

A little more white stuff

This is from several years ago as well, but since we're on the subject, this is my old back yard in Brooklyn after a serious snowfall a couple of Decembers ago:

If you look at the bare tree in the middle picture closely, you can see its coated with ice.

But, if its ice you want, ice I can give you.
These pictures are from 2002.... during my spring break! Didn't feel much like spring.

This is the amazing thing I have ever seen. I can't stop looking at the pictures, I have never seen any thing like it. Thank you for furthering my education.

While it looks pretty - the first time we had an ice storm up here, we too were amazed by it for a few hours - the weight of all that ice on trees makes lots of branches snap off, as well as some trees, even power lines. When it all started to break loose, it sounded like popcorn popping - all these chunks of ice coming loose and dropping into the snow below with a little thud.

This was us last November right after Thanksgiving. It's feeling almost cold enough now for snow, so who knows...but what we found amazing was how blue the sky was when the clouds lifted.
