Why I enjoy the atmosphere here.....

It lets me get away from the dregs I deal with everyday and relax around folks who are trying to live in a more civilized and polite manner. Thanks to all of you who lighten my day with manners, short stories, friendly flirting and general smiles. I really needed it after this week at work.

Isn't it true. It is like my own secret world. I think it has to do with the black background partly. Whoever picked that was a genius.
I know it sounds silly but it is sort of like my cave I run away to when the glare of the world and crazies hit. Also the fact of such a diversity of people across the world is amazing. All the lurkers need to post instead of just read as I love diversity.

There are few places on the interweb where one can get away from petty bickering, have conversations and learn from each other. Though members come from around the world, have wildly differing opinions on politics and religion, cherished common ground and manners come to the fore here. That makes it a rare pleasure indeed and a great break in the day.

Living one's life with style is the best way to cope with a world that appears to be rapidly spinning out of control. Lead by example, I say. The Fedora Lounge is indeed a sanctuary full of people who will steadfastly cling to a civilized lifestyle and ensure that we do not lose our humanity.

I couldn't agree more. I have not been involved in a "forum-type" website since Prodigy was unleashed a decade or two ago. The Fedora Lounge is a wonderful escape. Despite our political, religious and cultural differences it is great to--set that aside--and converse about and celebrate our similarities. Thank you fellow Loungers.
