League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It was unpopular, not least with the fans of the comic book, but I really enjoy it and watch it pretty much whenever it crops up on TV and there is nothing else on. Great ensemble cast, especially Connery in his last film role before retiring to the golf course.

I just picked up a VHS version of it for a dollar at a thrift store, and am going through it for the first time in years.

The first version of it that I owned was on one of the old early 80's RCA videodiscs. Remember those? The video was recorded on a vinyl disc (like the old LP's) that was inside a plastic carrier. The system actually worked well, but just couldn't compete with the VCR.

Just watched "The Sniper" from1952. It is a gritty Film Noir that almost feels like a documentary. It was filmed on location in San Francisco and it deals with a serial killer. It had some great actors of the day in it. Gerald Mohr, from radio's Philip Marlowe plays a detective as well as Adolphe Menjou and Marie Windsor. If you like classic Film Noir I would recomend it.

1936's Flash Gordon: Space Soldiers. wish there was a way to make my flash projector flicker like a reel projector... streaming via netflix just doesn't have the old timey feel... oh well more butter on the popcorn will make the blues go away

The Green Hornet. Oh my. SO bad. Could have really been a good movie but it wasn't.

The King's Speech. Amazing performance by Colin Firth. Incredible movie.

Well, I finally got around to watching the new Clash of the Titans and I have to say I was rather impressed. I liked it better that the Harry Hamlin version, only because the acting was superior to that version. Sam Worthington does have a great screen presence and I think he will go far in this industry. Mads Mikkelsen was great, and I like this character better than his villain in Casino Royale. Liam Cunningham had a great role as the smart mouthed elder of the guard too.

I thought that Ralph Fiennes as Hades was too Voldemort like in his mannerisms and speech, like he was fresh off of Harry Potter and couldn't get out of character. That, and Medusa reminded me of a hybrid of the original Clash of the Titans gorgon and Uma Thurman's version in Percy Jackson. They made the face too pretty and only horrific when she came face to face with her victim. But, I did like the dynamic movement that they gave her like a massive side winder.

I did think it odd that they added the D'Jinn into this story line unless they traveled farther to the east than one thinks. But I did like the character for what it added.

So, all in all not a bad film. I will watch it again and again for the action and entertainment value and look forward to Wrath of the Titans coming out in 2012. I like that Bill Nighy is going to be in that one, but it is a shame that they will have a different actress for Andromeda.
