Please share with me your insight about this outfit that I wore today. The thing is I had received some snarky comments about how I look in this outfit on a Facebook page. My question is: In your professional opinion, is it as bad as they made out to be? Any input will be appreciated.

The sleeves are at least two inches too long. Tucked in tshirt +1. I think a nice belt would complete the look.

agree with @Marc mndt

overall a clean look just too long on the sleeves. Is it possible to zip them to effectively shorten them?

I was walking down the street with my gf, wearing my ELMC californian, when a guy approached us and complemented me on my jacket. He even asked about the maker and where he could get one.

When we walked on I said to my gf "see, people do notice I'm wearing nice jackets". She just chuckled.

Thanks, I tried zipping the sleeves, but the bulges made it look worse than unzipped and I’m not prepared to take the risk of letting a tailor to shorten it, not knowing what the outcome is gonna be like, I might ruin a beautiful jacket.

There you go. Hows the sizing on them? I putter between a 42 and 44. Gracias.

This is a 38, I’m pretty typical 40. It works well as a slim waistcoat style vest in this case. My understanding is Filson now sells only S M L etc instead

Much appreciated. That would make me a 42 then, as typically I am a 44. I’ve got a saved search on eBay and will focus on vests with numbered sizing. Thanks.

The thing is I had received some snarky comments about how I look in this outfit on a Facebook page.

Were the snarky comments just about the fit?

The fit is not all that bad, yes the sleeves are long but not deserving of snarky comments. I personally wouldn't wear those sneakers with this outfit but I don't think it looks bad overall.

@Jin431 Thanks, man! Yeah, my little 4-year-old photo bomber always keeps me laughing and making me happy and satisfied :)

Isn't that the sweetest thing?! Life is good

Not a professional here but I do know people can be just plain mean.
I do like the relaxed look of the Outfit from the jacket/shirt/jeans/shoes, that's similar to how I dress if I'm not posting photos here. The jacket looks great on the body even with the longer length but as others have mentioned the sleeves are way too long.

The jacket appears to fit very well outside the sleeve length. I would have them shortened. A belt is an absolute must, even if nobody sees it. I would not tuck in my t shirt, even at gunpoint, personally. A nice pair of leather Chuck Taylors and you will be right as rain imho.

I remember reading one of your posts about your collection and I know you have some really nice jackets. But that one don't fit you with the sleeves. It could be a million dollar jacket, it still ain't going to help. It reminds me of how I buy my kids one size bigger because I know they're growing LOL. You got to find a high end seamstress that can fix that for you.

The other thing my wife sometimes points out on my outfits is in theory, if you're mixing colors, you're supposed to go from darker to lighter from bottom to top. There's some exceptions to the rules of course. But the white shoes and white shirt and black jacket is a little too "oreo". I think darker shoes (or even white base with black accent like a classic adidas shell toe or GAT with grey or blue accent) and/or darker tshirt (not necessarily black, but dark grey, light blue, or white shirt with some sort of colored graphic, etc.) would be less contrasty with the black jacket.

edit: and just read Ton's note. For sure-- belt. I missed that. A nice chunky black belt with cool buckle alone would help a lot.
