Jim, the sharing of your story was a show of your trust in the friendship and understanding of this great FL community. You've also given us a day to remember moms and an excuse (as if we needed one) to wear our Homburgs. Thank you for that [emoji4]

Well, you're the one who came up with the Hommie for your Mommie phrase.

That's true. Sometimes I forget my own genius.
In honor of your Mom's birthday, I will amend my Mother's Day poem.

Dressing up is the perfect way
To show you care on Martini Day.
So grab some gin, and don a Hommie
And go get soused for dear old Mommie.

Hopefully Martini day will leave you feeling a bit stirred, but not shaken.:)

Is the ribbon on the Wanderer wider than the Playboy, Eric?

Good morning from Minnesota. A cool morning finds me out early on a hike with our dog and dog soiree. A silvermist Gannon Wanderer (inspired by the venerable Stetson model) was and still is my hat choice this morning. With the leaves turning colors, Swallows/Kestrals starting migration (bigger numbers in the fields and woods), and local birds feeding frenetically all point to Autumn. "The times are a changing."

Jeff's is a Hornskov.

@Wyldkarma @Tukwila

To date I haven’t paid $950 for a hat! While I was selling and saving for my most recent western derby, I looked into Nathaniel’s and a few others, and their work all looked great, but I knew this custom was going to be from Texas Hatters all along. Nobody but nobody does a western brim curl like that one.
Jared, the Hornskov is super nice, but I have no idea whether it “counts” as a bowler. The crown has a unique dome with a flat top, instead of straight sides with an arched top. Who knows? I only know I had to pad it with three layers for it to fit, which means my head shrunk or the sizing was slightly off which may have explained why it was a sale item.

Have you seen @bowlerman 's western bowler he recently picked up? I think it's one of the best looking western bowler's I've seen and I'm pretty sure it wasn't $950.... I can't remember where he got his at, but it was while he was on a trip, visiting a bunch of places... including a great hat shop!

I did get a sweet western homburg and low raw brimmed topper from Greeley Hat Works while I was traveling!

Happy Martini Day! Why is it Martini Day, you ask?

My dear, sainted mother was born on this date in 1925, and was very fond of martinis. So on this date, we celebrate her life by going out for martinis. So Happy Martini Day, friends. If you are so inclined, have some gin-soaked olives and think of old Ruby T.

Nurse, mother, Howard's wife, and Pansy and William's little girl.

Honoring Mom at church under America's Finest Hat. This pristine Homburg was a generous gift from a fellow Lounger.

A Hommie for my mommy...
