Superb hat Michael, cool John Wayne cuffs on the jean's too... ;)
Thanks Ken. One of my best hats for sure. I don't usually cuff my jeans, but since I shop only thrift sometimes it's a necessity. I found these old Saddle King USA made jeans and they were far too long, but otherwise perfect.

I'm liking that Tatton Baird you've been showing. It looks to be a very nice hat.

That's a beauty, Michael. Great purple tinge to it. Is it myrtle?

Thanks Steve. It's mirtillo per the label, but near black in real life. Occasionally the camera sees a nice blue in it, my eye rarely sees it as more than very dark navy and more often as black.

Thanks,
Michael

To date I haven’t paid $950 for a hat! While I was selling and saving for my most recent western derby, I looked into Nathaniel’s and a few others, and their work all looked great, but I knew this custom was going to be from Texas Hatters all along. Nobody but nobody does a western brim curl like that one.
Jared, the Hornskov is super nice, but I have no idea whether it “counts” as a bowler. The crown has a unique dome with a flat top, instead of straight sides with an arched top. Who knows? I only know I had to pad it with three layers for it to fit, which means my head shrunk or the sizing was slightly off which may have explained why it was a sale item.

LOL, I've never spent $950 either. too rich for my pockets. That one is truly a work of art Jeff....you're right David does a mean brim curl. Is that one 100 beaver or blend? thanks for sharing!

I know what you mean, Michael. I have a Homburg the same subtle colour. Love the way different lighting effects the hue.

I like some of my jeans long and cuffed with a good pair of boots. If it's good enough for the Duke, it's good enough for me. ;)

That’s a 50/50 Western weight blend. David told me over the phone that he has some kind of vintage brim curling tool or machine that accounts for how special those curls are.

These Northwest hat is stiffer then the Hornskov. Hornskov is very very soft. And when i say very very soft, i mean very very soft. :D I like both of them, but Hornskov is a winner for me!
Thanks my friend! I too own myself a Hornskov beaver but I am always wondering how it compares with Winchester. I guess it differs too from felt to felt and hatter to hatter...
