Thanksgiving with family in Wenatchee WA. We gathered around Grandpa Jim, the 102 year old patriarch of the clan. I am thankful to be part of this family. I am also thankful to be relatively pain free for the first time since last February. Wearing a modern manufacture derby by Biltmore of Canada, Imperial grade. Color is congnac. A early 1960s cashmere blend overcoat to fend off the cold. Wishing all of the Lounge a Happy Thanksgiving, international friends as well as domestic.

He was a Baptist minister all his life. He still has stories in his head, a little mixed up, but a true joy. He was dragging up memories from the early 1930s at a summer camp today!

That is something to treasure. My wife’s Grandpa was 96 when he passed away last year. He was healthy as a horse and sharp as a tack until about 6 months before his passing. I used to enjoy sitting and talking to him for hours. Great stories from a bygone era.

First vintage fedora? Sheesh! No wonder you got hooked! That hat would turn anyone into a junkie trying to chase their first high!
It’s my favorite, too. And that’s saying a lot since all your hats are enviable with perfect shape,proportions and condition. You and Eric must shop in the same circles.

Love the Knox, love the Stetson and your attire make them both a grand slam.
But, Any time you feel the need to ship them long lost hats back to their homeland I can provide you with an American address.

The Stetson Casual was my hat for filling bird feeders and picking up some fallen limbs in the yard this morning.

I have included the 1945 magazine advertisement for the Casual. I have a different Casual ad (same time frame) in the background of the pic showcasing the hat crown.
