What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Thanks, Doug. Everybody should get in touch with their inner Demon (Hanover). I consider myself quite lucky to have found this one (and the other one).

I've found that double-demons make hat buying decisions easy...

Riding my bike to the library in a few minutes. Will have to dig out a scarf and gloves. What a difference a week makes.

A simple hat for today, interesting in its look back to an older era. This is an early 20th century western hat of modest dimensions (depth 6 1/4", brim 3", 2 1/2" curled) and modest price that came to me in very fine condition. No idea what techniques were used in the The Fray sweatband, but each example I have owned has a good century of life left in it. This hat is a 6 7/8. I don't wear it very often, but with a little careful coaxing, I've found it comfortable for a week after a close haircut.

Outside chores this morning in a VS Stratoliner inspired thin ribbon fedora.

The sage (cool minty green hue) beaver felt is luscious to the touch.

Love the OR and the cold weather wear, Michael.

Love the leather band!

A killer Boss Raw Edge, Alan. An historic giant of a hat.

Reminds me of Dad picking apples and pressing cider. The good old days.

I thought I'd follow up yesterday's OR with a Strat/OR spec'd Royal Stetson that is marked as neither and has a 6-ply ribbon on the crown. A great find by @Wesslyn , and one of my favorite lids!

Wore a lightweight jacket to drop off an application packet at the courthouse/county offices for a position with the court. That would be a nice position to keep until retirement... lucky hat: Do your best!

You're hired! ..how could you not be in that outfit. Excellent look and good luck. What color is the hat, looks like silver mist or light sage on my screen.

What a nice hat, Eric. Is sage the same color as the current willow that Winchester offers?

Brent, the sage beaver hue is a VS offering. You would need to confirm with Art Fawcet about the origin of the name. This is a dress weight felt that Art worked (pounced/sanded) to have a nap, but yet be thinner than a standard Winchester dress weight. This hat was blown off my hat into the lake a couple times, been wacked by branches and dogs to have it end up on the ground. This lighter hued hat has come out with out a noticeable mark. Love this felt.

Thank you, Eric. Art no longer has proprietary rights to his special colors but Winchester does have a 36 hat body minimum order for them that keeps smaller hatters from using them. Dove, limestone, and blue smoke are all in that camp and all on my list for future customs. I don’t know if Art still offers the lightweight option but I’ll ask when the time comes.

Your sage hat is beautiful and the inspiration for the willow Phoenix is making for me. Thanks again.
