Yesterday was a rare no hat day, waited around for estimates on painting. Today for campus I continue with my custom hat theme with the Bone Lord's Hat from NW Hats.

Really a super lid, Mike.

Feeling bossy today. The first public sighting of the new-to-me Mallory Ten "Commander."

Y'all on the coast take care and check your sump pumps!

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Love the brim treatment, Jim!

I never get tired of seeing that beauty!

Hoocoodanode that my new coat from yesterday would find legitimate use already today with 40 degrees and wind gusting to 25 mph. Paired with a Champ

Despite my tired look, I wanted to get this new addition on top of my head as soon as possible, to show you guys. 40's Dobbs Rainbow, go to the Dobbs Diner thread for more of this. Happy Thursday fellas.
Very unique hat, Mondo. Really like the brim stitching and textured ribbon. The hat suits you well!

Steve can tell you at how excellent vintage European hats are are and beaver was rarely used in them. Hare and rabbit blend can be very soft and very compliant. Many of the great US made hats of yesteryear were also hare and/or rabbit. The problem, as I see it, is that hat bodies and felting just aren’t what they used to be. There’s been lots of conversations about why; the end of mercury in the process, the quality of raw materials, etc. I don’t know what the answer is, but modern felt is generally (I haven’t tried them all so???) a pale shadow of what it once was. The modern FEPSA rabbit/hare blend hat you are referring to (I think) shouldn’t dissuade you from vintage hats of that blend.

Everyone should have a blue hat. Astor Hats...
That is one special hat Bob. I like that ribbon treatment!

Vintage Stetson Stratoliner to greet the arrival of cooler weather.
Man oh man Alan, that has got to be the ultimate vintage strat. I enjoyed seeing it.

Wearing this '50s era refurbed Dobbs Fifth Avenue with an over welted brim that a fellow Lounger, who wishes to remain anonymous, gave me...I have more in the Conversion Corral.
As received...
After I refurbished it...
That can't be the same hat! Another one of your masterpieces.

Great color and ribbon Brent. That felt looks wonderful.

When it gets windy or rainy, I tend to reach for the Akubra Campdraft due to its indestructability or at least, the fact that it can be replaced.
Homage to Bob
And more classic (although Bob’s brim up is something of a classic in itself)
Is it Friday yet?
Bullet proof Christophe. I like how you have that brim (both ways, actually).

It's a Pecan VS kinda day, I really like the finish on this hat....But starting to sprinkle out so might switch to the Akubra

Love the pecan felt Ken. Treat it with kid gloves, or not, it can probably handle it.

Gorgeous Greg.

Hey folks!
Thanks for all the likes and kind words. Much appreciated. :)
It might not have the acreage of yesterday's Collins & Fairbanks, but this 40' Adam Premier Quality still casts a shadow.
Have a great day!

Thank you Mike! After going back and looking at the 'before' pictures I find it hard to believe it's the same hat too.
