Hello this aero cr cxl steerhide size 40 just came in a few days ago .
What do yall think about the fit

I’m 6 ft
Weight 185isb
Chest 42

Initially I had placed an order for a size 42 ,however Aero suggested size 40 based on my stats

Looks good for that pattern, its always wide in the shoulder and tapers pretty dramatically to the waist.

I prefer the BR pattern for that reason. It sits more at the shoulder than past it. I'm similar measurements and this is a 42 BR

I would think the 42 in the CR would be too big on you, this would be the correct size in the CR for you, is it comfortable?

Looks good on you ! I know that the br is more of a slimmer fit than the CR . If I went for the BR I would prob go for a 42 as well .

Yes it’s very comfortable out of the box new , cant wait till it’s fully broken in

That collar looks like it's digging into your neck. Hope you're still breathing lol

Would help if you took a pic in it zipped up unless you plan to wear it unzipped in which case it looks fine.

Oh yes it’s fine haha , it is very stiff and the collar on the cafe racers are indeed higher than most other companies out there like vanson for example .

I don’t zip up my leather jackets but I have zipped it up and it’s fine . I shall post a pic of it zipped it later on .

I'm fairly new to the jacket hobby, I 've 20 jackets, so take my opinion for what it's worth: It's too bad that you don't have both a 40 and 42 to try on. The 40 looks good enough, but my hunch is the 42 will fit even more comfortable with a little more length in the sleeve and waist area. I would enjoy the 40, but the next time I buy another jacket, I would consider a 42 as well or a different pattern.

You look good in that jacket but there is a jacket out there that you'll look even better in

I prefer cafe racer to be on the shorter side which is how traditionally cafe racer jackets are meant to be

It looks too short to me - In my opinion. And a bit too tight.

I am 6' 1" tall, 195 lbs and wore a size 42 Aero 4-pocket CR (sourced through Thurston Brothers) in CX Steerhide.
However that said I also always wear my shirts tucked in, jeans fully pulled up with a belt on, especially for fit photos. I treat that as if I were checking fit on a suit. So It's still difficult to tell, but to me it looks a bit too small on you.

Also @Edward @Peacoat could we add this to the existing Fit check thread?

You have a picture ? I’m curious on how the jacket fits you since we have similar stats .

I feel like a size 42 will be too large for me and aero said the 40 would be best for my stats that I’ve provided for them .

It didn’t feel tight even when it was fresh out the box . I still have some breaking in to do , I’m sure it will look better in photos when it’s more broken in .

Sorry, the jacket is long gone and fit photos were a new concept to me while I had it.
I think given my recollection you are right - keep the 40 and break it in.

Here are the full details (and jacket photos, not fit photos) where I foolishly sold it.

This is confusing me. In the first photo it looked like your neck was being squeezed, but when you zipped the jacket up it looks to fit a lot better on the neck. Can someone explain lol?
I believe it’s because the leather is very stiff brand new but when it’s broken in more the leather softens up . I think Mr proper would have a better explanation of that topic .
