'50's Penney's Marathon - my latest refurb. I sized it up two sizes, added a new sweat from @bond , and gave it a new-vintage wide maroon ribbon with a couple paintbrushes in the keeper.

Excellent work Justin! :)

Greetings All:
Sitting on the porch awaiting the Postperson to deliver a pair of vintage Magnaplanar stereo speakers for the Marantz. Been waiting 40 years for some “Maggies”! Probably be in La La Land for a good while. So, today it’s a Stetson Bantam.

Love the Bantam Bowen! I have a feeling that your neighbors might know you have new speakers soon...

I'm wearing my first homburg, today. Premier Vita-Felt.

It's got this white spot on the crown from when someone must have spilled a drop of some bleaching substance on it. Unreasonable creature that I am, that little spot drives me bonkers. Oh well...

Have a beautiful day.

It's a wonderful looking homburg, Matt. But I can see what you mean with the white spot. I wouldn't feel the same with some mothing or other wear though; strange...

I am despondent.

Opening Day. Cancelled. No baseball. No Reds.

It's raining. Dark. Overcast. There's no baseball until tomorrow. Blech.

So I laugh in the face of TAR Thursday with this Moss Green Gannon.

I'd wish everybody a happy Holy Thursday, but this is a tragedy of immense proportions. Perhaps I should buy a hat to cheer myself up.

Good looking Gannon, Jim. Good idea to buy a hat to cheer yourself up; works for me every time.

Thanks Red. I too like the pockets on the coat. It's a very handy bicycling and day tripping coat with all of the pocket space. The pin came with it.

Thanks Jim. I would say not at all stiff, nor yet floppy either. I think it has to be the thinnest felt of any brim I have. Feels like it's about 1/64th inch. The crown actually feels much thicker, but also softer.

While I was out shopping today a guy asked me if I was wearing an Open Road. He had on a nice looking thin ribbon too, so I asked him if he was after saying mine was a The Dallas. He said his was a Royal Stetson. He thought that was the model name. It was in very nice shape inside and out, except that the sweatband hat dry rotted and was missing the two parts where the model might have been stamped. I think it might have been a Stratoliner, but could have been an OR too. Or something else. It as a nice fairly dark brown hat in any case, and he was wearing it with style.

Thanks all,
Michael

Thanks. My crown is very soft, but the brim is fairly stiff. Of course, mine was virtually unworn when I got it, so maybe that has something to do with.

And I think that pin harkens back to Christa Mcauliff, no?

Thank you for your likes and I regret not being able to answer you, but I was put KO, temporarily, from a seasonal illness

Today first day of free exit with Tirard Ragonda to continue the French series in black
161bbqc.jpg

The hat is very well finished and Tirard Freres was the first of the big French brands to close in the 50s

The felt is very malleable and "buttery" and the finishes of the first class

The brims are edged in black, in short, a black on black for a classic of elegance for occasions that are worth a dress suitable for the occasion, at least in Europe :)

Buon giovedì!
Very nice, DAniele. Hope you're feeling better. Where did you get your information on Tirard (I couldn't find anything on the brand)?
