Heading home - at Heathrow Airport earlier today.

Borsalino rolled up and packed in its little box, Whippet traveling on my head.

Looking great today every one of you.
DJH--really like that Whippet. Beautiful color.
Rogera--beautiful Strat. Keeping my eye out for one.

This is a new find. The sweat band is stuck to the liner so I'm afraid to peel it back to see the lot number/serial number label. I don't know what substance is between the liner and the sweat, but I can pull some of it back to see that the liner is still stitched in place. Not sure of the dating, then. It says "Light Weight" at the front of the sweat band. The brim is 2.25 inches, crown height about 5.75 inches open, very pliable felt, and like the label says, very light weight. Maybe one of you experienced Borsalino collectors will know more about it. I'll try to get more pics up later on the new hats thread.

Borsalinos are difficult to date without the label. They were very varied in style and consistent in quality through the 1970s. Looks to be a great hat, sold in Italy, 50s - 60s would be a guess. I have a Borso nutria homburg where the sweat has bonded to the liner and body by some unknown material - shellac perhaps.
