That's a really great crease for that hat. Good lines & proportions.
Thanks. I’m sure I’m going to wear the hat more with its new shape. The felt is very compliant with a touch of steam.

Just beautiful. Reminds me of my Borsalino Savoy I got from @NewJack ... and that I should wear it more often.Your pictures are great!
Thanks Red. Your two tone is a cool looking hat.Chameleon Blue, a new color! No matter what light, this Marathon is a looker Michael.
Thanks Richard. The bit of grey heathering seems to make the felt.Michael, I think I like that hat more everytime I see it. I'v got a couple of blue hats but that one is special somehow.
Thanks Stefan. Thanks, Michael. Your Stetson seems like a trusty hat, but it can't stand in the shadow of the Marathon.
Cool lines! I like it, don't think I could pull it off, but it is still a stunner!American Hat Co Para Panama on a sunny morning

Have a great Sunday,
Michael
Why wouldn't you be able to pull it off? Post some pictures of you in a wide brim, Michael. I am sure it would look fine.Cool lines! I like it, don't think I could pull it off, but it is still a stunner!
Beautiful morning, having some great Mexican Atole and enjoying my new Scott & Co before it gets too warm to wear.
It was way too large for me when it arrived, but I was able to shrink it to my size with repeated steam applications, and yes, the hairdrier. It didn't lose its shape, and it fits well now. I dislike how padding feels.

Michael, the right hat in the right place!
I softened it with repeated applications of honey leather conditioner before and after, but thank you for confirming my suspicions, Jim, and for the warning! The hat was of no use to me without shrinking, though, so I took a chance. It was waaay too big, and I know I wouldn't have worn it with padding.Doc, if you're applying steam to vintage sweats, you're inviting trouble.
Headed out this morning under the Mallory Fifteen.

I've used water and a little heat (turn it out and put it over a light bulb) to coax a new sweat down a half size, or so, but I'd never try it on old leather. I've also toasted a sweatband or two by accidentally getting it in the path of the steam.
Then you'll teach yourself how to sew in a new sweat, so there is an up side.
Mighty fine Mallory Jim.Doc, if you're applying steam to vintage sweats, you're inviting trouble.
