Just got home about an hour ago from a 13 hour drive through California to Oregon. I'll have to catch up with the great hats that have been posted today. My Rose Bowl hat was right there with me for the entire 500+ miles. Stopped for a WHAYWT shot with Mt. Shasta in the background.

Received terrible news last night that reminded me that 2016, with all of its horrors, lives on for a little while longer. Apropos that yesterday I renewed my registration and purchased a new plate...

Today I pay my tribute to the nostalgia of the 70's
It was the time when you could smoke in public places (bars and restaurants) and they were much more numerous than now, and in the afternoon of Friday, I young, I found my father's friends, his peers, with very similar hats of this of today
They would have tight brim and the high ribbon

This is a Vanzinas style by Borsalino of those early seventies

It has come down to us new and untouched.
It was in the box of hats for a long time to sell, but today, last Friday of the year 2016 I gave it the chance to take a ride

The color is "Selva" and felt one of the most beautiful in my possession.

It is soft and almost velvety. The finishes are superb

It will return in a cardboard box to sleep with dreams of those years

Thanks, FedO! I still have some of the larger size Pendletons from my larger size days, and they're perfect for use over the "broken wing." Most likely I will be out of the sling in another week or two, or three. MUCH better than last time.
