Nice! Got something of "Dallas".
Nice! Got something of "Dallas".
Thank you Harv, and I did enjoy my day.Always enjoy seeing that one, E.
You look great! Enjoy your day.
Why thank you, I appreciate that!Beautiful! Your hats really are stunning, such an inspiration! What is the inside of your ladies' fedoras like? Are they finished like most men's hats or unlined with a grosgrain sweatband like most women's hats?
Thx Adrian!Esther – I love that color. Wow.
That's a stunning hat!Stetson 100
Cheers!
David
I hope you're feeling better. You brighten up my morning, and ease my pain a little. I really like this color, however, it is to "wild" for my wife. She really needs to take a fashion leap!
Blue is for you Esther !!! Real nice one fit for you

Very nice. Have we seen that one before? A great look in front of the flower wall.
I think she was on the marquee at that burliekew "theatre" on Brown St about 1970.Dusty Periwinkle? Didn't she used to dance at the Spotted Cat?
"Mulletburg" sounds like some neighborhoods not far from the Hamburger Wagon.I think she was from Mulletburg.
Why thank you, I appreciate that!
I do both, depending on what she wants. I have ladies asking for lining and leather sweat, others don't.
I myself can't stand the feel of a leather sweat. It snags on my hair.
Drives me absolutely nuts.
I use a special type of grosgrain, way softer on your coiffure and they stay put just as well. As things go in custom hatting, the customer can choose.
Great bowler
Aw thank you.Thank you Esther. I know the grosgrain you mean, I actually found a huge reel of it at a stock sale a couple of months ago for the grand old sum of €5, couldn't believe my luck. Not that I make hats myself, just clothes - although one day I'll try my hand at some amateur millinery (I've been saying that for years, but it will happen). To be honest, after all these years of wearing hats, I still haven't decided what kind of inside is best to prevent the dreaded "hat hair". I have the annoying kind of thin frizz prone hair so it's difficult. Silk liners help.
I'm not in the market for a custom hat right at this moment, but I am in Belgium fairly regularly, so it's good to know there's a great go-to hatter in Antwerp! Do you have a shop people can drop by or is it by appointment / order only?
Another beautiful hat today by the way, I agree with Michael, looks perfect in front of that flower wall.
Hey!
Now that is properly Christmassy. Great hat too.Resistol today.
Biskup? I'm unfamiliar with that name. Great look today Perry.

That's a really cool and elegant looking fuzzy hat.Sorry Esther, lunch demanded my attention. I may well have to take you up on that offer
Today's choice of hat is inspired by @Daniele Tanto 's long hair felts, @mayserwegener 's black german and austrian hats and @EstherWeis ' lovely ladies' fedoras. This is a black Austrian long haired fedora from Mühlbauer's in Vienna:

The felt is so unbelievably soft to the touch, you just can't stop stroking it. Here's a close up of the texture and the ribbon:

It's getting very cold (for Virginia Beach, anyway) here today. Thanks for the hit of springtime.
