Today's choice of hat is inspired by @Daniele Tanto 's long hair felts, @mayserwegener 's black german and austrian hats and @EstherWeis ' lovely ladies' fedoras. This is a black Austrian long haired fedora from Mühlbauer's in Vienna:

The felt is so unbelievably soft to the touch, you just can't stop stroking it. Here's a close up of the texture and the ribbon:

We got a couple inches of snow yesterday afternoon. Red got freezing rain just south of my gps cord's. No precip here today so I picked my still new Penman custom steel fedora. Love this baby.

@mayserwegener - That black Liberty hat is interesting, I love the colour of the liner. I wonder if Liberty refers to the London department store...

Yes it could be a possibility. I don't have a list of English hat companies because it's not my focus. I will have to take a look and see if I can find any that match "C.W.N". One of my friends thinks the figure head in the liner design is Jugendstil. Here is a clearer look at the hat.

Great looking Mühlbauer Long Hair. Is this a current model? I see they have a small production department but I don't believe I have come across any vintage hats (brand or shop). They aren't in the 1926 Austrian Hat Industry Guide. It could be they were Women's hats focused.

Great Penman Fed, love the color. I have to say, I got the Biskup from Ebay a few years ago, but don't really know much more about the brand. It apparently was a custom hatter out of Philly.
I will post a pic of the inside.
