To be honest - and this is another reason it's got to go - it isn't even a hatband, there's no bow, it's just a piece of ribbon someone's stitched to the hat.

I read that the traditional boater band is black, so I hope to find one online.

If you don't mind modern, Olney are still producing them in Luton (decent straw, synthetic 'leather' sweat band though).

never heard of steaming out the edges, it came from the factory this way, but i guess steaming them out fluffs it up abit , Aa

Because it was my sister's birthday and we went dinner to a restaurant, I changed to the John Galt Stagecoach.
