today im weareing...im not sure what exactly to call it....i call it a "jungle man hat" but maybe a more accurate description would be like a soft safari hat or fishing hat. its got the little strap to secure around the bottom of your chin so you dont lose it whilst on a stroll or something of that sort.

its quite nice and very chill while i currently appley a comb to my beard!!

Cheers,
Hat Man

That Barrister's got curves! Great pic :).

Thanks, Neo. Hmm, I do like curves - hats, cars, ... well you know!

Thanks, David! Really like your Adventurebilt and Barrister this evening. My OPTIMO Porcelain has a nearly identical hand when compared with my un-dyed beaver belly, but is perhaps marginally firmer. Like you, I absolutely adore the tall, straight crowns, and the Cagney exemplifies this style. My Silver Belly is a special, one-off hat that Graham designed for a Hollywood film, and embodies his interpretation of classic style with a more au courant sensibility. I must say that I agree with Graham. While the Cagney proportions are perfect when part of a more formal ensemble, my Silver Belly, with its color, lower, slightly tapered crown and moderate brim size, make it more versatile with varying wardrobe and occasions. I firmly believe that it is invaluable, not to mention more interesting, to have variety in our hat rotations.

Good info - thank you Al.

I think I read that your wife prefers the slightly tapered Silverbelly over the Cagney as well. Agree that it is best to have a variety of options. I actually just commissioned a new hat that is based on one of your vintage ones - should be very interesting.

Nice shots of you and your Cavanagh Homburg. No question that the future is challenging for many of the well known orchestras - you don't seem to be confident of a good result in this case.

I have to repost the photo because its so good!
Nice hat David !!!!

Cheers, Rusty! I'm finding that the camera in the new iPhone 5 is way better in low light than the one in my Golden Era iPhone 4.

Nice to see your Adventurebilt.

Yes! It should also appear in the "Show us your dark side" thread! Make it happen, David. :)

Good idea - I'll do that. On Oregon Pinot Noir, I was looking at your post last night trapped in my car by a major thunderstorm and downpour. I resolved to get a bottle of Pinot from your State, but all the store had was from California or Marlborough. I've always enjoyed Pinot Noir from OR, but you are right, there are not many bargains around.

David, Barrister in the evening, sharp hat David!

Thanks, Manfred. The Barrister is a nice hat and not too many of them around. Once sold for $9.99 on eBay the other day - very small size though, 6 3/4 I think.

Che - the Lee is just stunning!

Alan - nice shot with the cap.

Robert - I don't think I could wear it, but the western looks good on you.

Out enjoying the Fall lake views after being out in the canoe. Wearing my silverbelly VS Executive this early evening.

Shortly I am heading out to listen to a friend play acoustic blues music. He has promised to play some sweet Barbeque Bob tunes that we have played together in the past.

Stetson Royal Deluxe OR.

Rusty-- +1! A fresh divergence from the usual thin ribbons, but not in any way over -the-top. Nice!

Al-- First of all, I love that homburg. Second, hearts are heavy for the MO all over the place. It is an absolute travesty, and a double-hitter in your city, with SPCO facing similar hacks and slashes. Add Atlanta, Indianapolis, recently Philly, and even (to a lesser degree) Chicago, among others, and you have a truly significant mass of very concerned musicians. Best of luck with the Minnesota arts.

Che-- Lee never ceases to amaze me with their styling, as alanfgag originally pointed out to me. Beautiful lid!

Alan-- and you never cease to amaze me with your versatility. What a great cap. I have yet to find a flat cap that doesn't make me feel awkward.

Alive and Amplified-- thanks! Somehow I missed that "lounger homage" thread; I will have to peruse it.

Eric-- Your fine, classy hats suit you so perfectly. I admire your consistency and the fact that you never seem to slouch with any portion of your wardrobe. It's such a foreign concept to me that I am beginning to explore, being a usual jeans/hoodie/dress hat kind of guy.

I actually wore this Lee Jet on Friday to a work meeting and a few errands I ran afterwards. Not the greatest picture, but figured I would finally throw my hat into the ring.

I do like that OR on you. The brim and crown height work well. Got to love the silverbelly colors!

BTW: I have relatives in N.Dakota that I have visited this summer wearing my OR. They saw the hat as not appearing strange at all. Since most of them wear western hats on the cattle and farm ranches they operate, they offered compliemnts on my "country cover."

Also, thanks very much sir for the compliment! I am proud NOT to be a slouch.

Best wishes from just East of you, Eric -

Eric - Your VS hats are great. The Executive has a really nice monotone color scheme. You wear them high and you wear them well!

Jeff - I agree with Eric, the OR looks really sharp on you. Great dimensions; the brim suits you just right.

JonnyO - Nice hat. I like the tie clip, too. Is your brim turned up or down in the back? I can't tell on monitor.
