I'm right behind you on this one.
Dang it, Eric! I had to send Jonathan a message about that new cap! Very nice!I took the evening off and have been puttering about. Time and the cooler temps had me opening the box that contained a couple of new caps that arrived earlier this week.
New Cap Day: New Cordova Straw Cap Day! I would like to introduce my new straw cap. This was originally listed as an upholstery fabric. It appears to have Raffia and Jute thread woven in between to hold it together. This is my fav warm weather cap! Hands down.
The cap has heft. It does not lie against the head. The "fabric" is breezy (at least from my one evening wearing attests to).
The fabric and the details combine into a gorgeous summer cap. Dang!
I do have an Abaca Straw cap from Cordova. This is the needed lightweight cap for special occasions. Love this cap also. Pic below:
Thanks for viewing my new Cordova Cap.
Best, Eric -

The closest I can come is a recent version of the M-1951 patrol cap:I'm considering getting one of these. Anyone here wear this style of cap..??
I have no issue buying German in fact I just bought one. It's the Chinese crap I avoid like the plague. And I wish the country of origin was always clearly disclosed. Cheers brother, alles gut!@jonesy86
Why is it Made in Germany?? An older model?
Yes. Should be posted in the cap faction thread from last week.I'm considering getting one of these. Anyone here wear this style of cap..??
Yeah, that's a personal choice. With the brim flipped down the cap has essentially the same appearance as the one in the photo you posted, except it doesn't have those extra panels in the front or the air holes on the side(s), and I think the brim itself might be a bit shorter.I don't care for the short flipped up brim.
