Everyone looks great, good on y 'all.

Doesn't my big sis look like a million bucks?

Went shopping with my daughter today and it was cool enough to wear a wool dress :)

Met my Mother for a quick visit to the V&A museum and then a stroll to the Royal Collage of Art for a drink with one of her oldest friends. Stopped for a quick tourist pic outside the Royal Albert Hall.

1880's ball gown ensemble, made by me.
Will post more details about this in the show us your sewing thread later

Worn to the Gaskell's Fancy Dress Ball Saturday night in Oakland, CA and Cubberly's Friday Night Dance Halloween Party in Palo Alto, CA. I'm wearing little vintage Edwardian eyeglasses that I had my prescription put into. Having the vintage eyewear is the final piece of the puzzle, it really adds so much to the getting the right look..

Carey = All that hard work has paid off 'big time!' Your young un's look 'great!' As do 'you' and your partner!! Amazing - you must have been working 30 hour days to get ALL that achieved 'in time' for the event!!! Bravo.

thank you Paddy- about two weeks were spent doing this. Though I started working on all the ideas about a month ago. All the fabric and lace used on my ensemble I already had, and Sarah's gold silk yard goods.

One night I only got 1-1/2 hours of sleep, and by the afternoon when I picked up the kids from school I got 'loopy', almost like being punch drunk... I hadn't eaten much that day either (was just too busy to eat)- and actually at one point I got the shakes- that was a bit scary.

All the pin pricks, long hours bent over a sewing machine with my back wrenched, burned fingers from ironing, lack of sleep and the mess in my place I created doing these projects are nothing when compared to the satisfaction I have from it all. Being at these two events- dancing, laughing, enjoying special time with Tom and my children will go down in my long term memory as having been such a wonderful, special time.

This was Friday evening. It was cold and misting rain. This was the first time this fall that I've had need to wear an overcoat.
