Mid-'50s transitional suit from Desmond's of Southern California; Landay of Hollywood tie (got a compliment out of it from a fellow at a Chinatown restaurant); my rarely-worn Borsalino Alessandria (paid about 3 bucks for it); Mezlan shoes from Spain.

A closer look at the Borsalino. (In a John Payne/Kansas City Confidential -kind of mood.:p)

That's funny Mario... Whenever I find things like this I think to myself 'Why oh why can't these ever fit me!':eusa_doh:

Exactly my problem. Every now and then some really great stuff turns up at Ebay. Even at affordable prices. I've seen them come - and I've seen them go. Trouble is that my lanky self is somewhat out of proportion. Too long and slender. People back then were of a different build. Had James Stewart not been so rich I figure he would have had a lot of problems finding suits in his size. Life isn't fair... ;)

Lee - it took you a pretty long time time before you finally started posting photos of yourself but since you did you keep churning out some really great outfits. Way to go! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

On a sidenote: personally I think it's good that you did away with the stache, but that's of course just my humble opinion. :D

Some extremely well dressed and smart folks around here lately- unlike someone here (*cough* me!) as today for me ‘Sun’ means shorts and sunnies…. ‘xcuse the pasty legs, it’s the first time the sun has seen them this year!:D

Shorts (ha, I don’t do short shorts as you can see!) and sports blouse- made from mid forties patterns.
Sun glasses original 1940’s.
