Mr Badger,

is that the short from the shop in London? (I think you posted pics a few months back) Didn't you have some problems with it at the time? I just wondered how it's wearing.

Hello chap, it's wearing okay I reckon, although I've only had it on a coupla times. On the plus side, they did eventually replace the duff and wrinkly white version with another cream one, and the spearpoint collar is a nice size – it even develops a pleasing little roll when the bones are out and a collar clip is used. On the downside, it was such a faff unpicking the box pleat and darts, then re-finishing the bottom of the back with a little iron-on hemming web, and even then it's just a little too fitted, and I'm quite trim these days... hung jury from my end, kinda wish I'd taken a chance with Luxire instead, after seeing some of the shirts that FLers have had made...

Both of my suits are modern, made to what I intended to be a contemporary version on a classic '50s cut. The hat is an early '50s Sovereign Stetson.

My DJ pard Louie and I were spinning hep wax at the Bath in Fashion Vintage Clothing Fair yesterday... here I am clutching my 1940s Astatic D-104 mic, and behind the machine I call 'Phonohenge'... had on my vintage Hong Kong-tailored country three-piece, a cream Adam of London spearpoint shirt, 1940s silk burgundy with silver flecks necktie, tan basketweave & brown croc Stacy Adams 'Madison' shoes, and a chestnut John Halifax 'Hannay' velour fedora (shame nobody told me there was a bit lump of fluff stuck to the crown!)...

You guys look awesome. I would encourage you to get some black and white shots as well as your clothes, your body types, bone structure and even (in the last shot) the background has the look, feel and vibe of the Golden Era, which would be fantastic to see in black and white. Those photos would probably pass as vintage.

Yes, indeed, good work avedwards. Both your hats are great, love the bold height on your friend's fedora!
It's a shame I look ridiculous in a fedora.
Did you get your suit made at a 'regular' tailor? It is a a subtle beauty. You pull off the db well.

Metropd pulls off the high crowned fedora very well - the one in the picture was actually designed by him. I think fedoras would suit you too - it's just a case of getting one with the right proportions to suit your face and being confident enough to carry it off.

The suit was made by a made to measure tailor based just round the corner from where I work in the south of England. The idea was to keep it subtle, interesting, classic and modern all at the same time!
