Oh...that album really moves me! It would have been even better seeing them live. But, if they do come through again, I'll take your money, and then give you a call on my cell so you can hear them. lol

Y'know...I've never had a chance to listen to Franz Ferdinand. You'd think I would have living in Portland...hm...I guess I should, eh?

Deal on Devotchka--their touring schedule seriously frustrates me; they're travelling everywhere except the East Coast it seems like!

I love FF but they seem to be a love 'em/hate 'em band; I've yet to meet anyone who was on the fence about them. Both albums are good but the first has a slightly less "manipulated" sound that I like. They're a little rougher, more garage-bandy on the first one.

My favorites:

Album; Franz Ferdinand
Jacqueline
Take Me Out
The Dark of the Matinee
Auf Achse
Come On Home
40'

Album; You Could Have It So Much Better
The Fallen
Do You Want To
Walk Away
You're the Reason I'm Leaving
Eleanor Put Your Boots Back On
What You Meant
You Could Have It So Much Better
Fade Together

Hymne a L'amour (Edith Piaf)

Currently listening to: "Hymne a L'amour" sung by the 'great' Edith Piaf. Such a beautiful, and moving piece.

To all you romantics out there among us, pull up a chair by this candle lit table on a Paris sidewalk, close your eyes for a few moments and enjoy the uinque voice of Edith Piaf...

Friend here at work lent me a CD of the Buffalo Philharmonic in 1946, led by William Steinberg, doing the Shostakovitch Symphony #7, the Leningrad. Very interesting. Not high fidelity, but a great performance.
