patterned trousers = solid socks. Not sure what else there is with this. However, I DO agree with you and personally love patterned socks. I just only wear them with the solid trousers.

Well now, just to help out a rather pleasant fellow living over there in Australia, I am soon to be sending some goodies, among of which are some very one of a kind socks....not wild, but oh lord have mercy, very different indeed, just made for spiffy spectators and the likes. Blue socks work with blue trousers, yet some grey and white and blue striped socks would also work....(creative side of art connected to the stimulative forces of attire and raw courage)! LOL! Now with socks, (on my list of ability in dressing smartly) I always tend to think some lightly patterned cream colors socks being "neutral" in many ways, can go with many colors, light gray pattern socks can go with blues and dark gray or even black trousers, cream and a mixture of any other colors can go with tans or browns in the way of trousers. Having enough "choice" as to what socks may go with what trousers is in a way very helpful. So in my thinking, if you have a larger number of nicer dress socks, you have the variety of choice to more or less "fine tune" the matching of what socks are being worn with what shoes and trousers. Oh yes, in my attire and how I would toss in something else, in making this determination on the sock front.....everything you wear comes into play. Example, a brown checked suit, warn with a soft off green dress shirt, olive and gold neck tie, medium brown belt, gold cufflinks and brown shoes, you can wear soft yellow and or gold colored socks, even argyle that would have some of the colors you wear in the attire. Not something you would desire to toss on your pink colored socks with.

I tend to think Cookie has a handle on his attire from head to toe.

has nothing to do with the shoes in this case. look at the PANTS! A very nice window pane style with quite a few different colors. A pair of wild socks would look lousy with them. Those blues pull straight off that thin blue stripe in the pants.

Yes exactly a very nice Pal Zileri from memory.

I tend to think Cookie has a handle on his attire from head to toe.

'Er indoors has referred to me occasionally as Prince Charles....for reasons I am unable to fathom ;).

Although a rare percentage of patrons of which would participate in an most unusual "form" of attire, or could we say, not too much attire, there are some "holy grail" shoes modestly owned and worn by a few, that are so far ahead of other items placed on display (as art and form), that the one wearing such pair of shoes adorning their feet...that...well..they could be totally remiss of any other article of clothing, it would not make a difference, be it a cuff or uncuffed, kilt, nor short, nor be it even a buck naked other than that one fine pair.......of shoes...

Never take for granted there is only one item a person wears in their entire life time with a label connected to what may be considered the "here-after", by way of the "sole"......shoes have them....

I've often thought that some of the real "mobsters" may have had some sock garters made with an additional optional ankle holster, to tuck away a hidden short barreled pistol down there.....keep up your socks with a smith & wesson.......weeee haaaaaw!

Cookie scores big again! I love the bold broguing. Any chance we can get a peek at the soles?
