Got this one inbound from half way around the world. No label but it checks all the vintage boxes for me.
Anxiously awaiting its arrival.

I'm quite jealous

I satisfied myself, purchased moments ago. I did not see the maker's label until after I purchased the jacket. Grommet Talon zipper c.1938. I just love these zippers. I glanced at the numbers, but just bought it. I gambled the zipper would be salvageable, it was zipped and this is a low stress leather. Need much lining work, much wear.

Here is the label I saw after the buy, so I was most excited.

I got a Monarch in mail yesterday, a 50s.

Outstanding! I'm in love already, the lining, the buttons, the button pocket, the buckle, the half- back, the cuff straps, adds to a most unique piece. I'm quite jealous
Thank you sir Terry. I love all the details of this one. Seller says it is in excellent condition and it appears to be so. I can see this one as becoming my favorite and most worn.

Watched Seabiscuit again last night with couple of my granddaughters, one of our favorite movies. Even better with a granddaughter cuddled up and eating popcorn. An amazing plethora of both wool and leather half belts. Would sure love to find a wool half belt from this era but seem pretty scarce.

I love the whole style of dress from this era when people dressed up to go out in public. Men and boys all donned fedoras coats and ties.

Hercules suede sport jacket I just pick up for a sung. The suede is lightweight clean and in excellent condition. I have no way of judging the age. I have been seeking a vintage suede for years always held back due to price and concern over the condition. The zip is a conmar and looks new. I forgot to take a picture of the Hercules
I looked at the label and this is a Windward, not a Herc

You should absolutely try on of SJC’s wool HB’s. I love mine to death. Can’t wait for the second one to arrive. They are very reasonably priced and extremely well built!

I have the love for these wool half-belts. These jackets were all over the Sears catalog from the late 30s to the late 40s. They seem to fade out in the 50s. All the catalogs sold them in a variety of looks.

This is a Sportclad c.1948

Somehow the wool Halfbelt trumps it’s leather equivalent. I don’t know what it is. I just like them more. The plaids, the cut….They just look so damn cool.
